## The problem
1. Having Steem integrated into many websites would greatly benefit the ecosystem by boosting the network effect
2. Bloggers and other content providers need to monetize
3. Currently there is no monetary benefit to the site owner if they integrate Steem. Only extra work and frustrated users. They will still have to monetize by other means, like advertising.
4. Without an incentive very few site owners will integrate Steem, and no extra boost will be gained that way

## Possible Solutions
Here are 3 ideas which could work as to incentivize integrating Steem in one way or another.
### Use Steem to hold the content
Host the content on Steem, and use the site as a customized front-end to the Steem blockchain. Access could be restricted to only articles by the site owner. This would allow users to upvote content thus providing revenue to the site owner.

### Upvote to access
Have Steem integrated in such a way that users have to upvote a dummy-article (by the site owner) on Steem to gain access to the content in question. For example only one paragraph of an article will be shown, and after up-voting the dummy-article the whole article will be revealed.

## Boost revenue with extra upvotes
To boost revenue, the site could be set up so that when a user upvotes any article, they would automatically upvote also the dummy-article on Steem. As far as I understand, the vote is signed in the browser, which should make it possible to hard-code a mandatory up-voting of any article. Here the site owner should be careful not to misuse trust.

## The downsides and risks
1. All these solutions require the user to have a Steem account. This would add a mental cost to using the site in question, and thus reduce traffic. To make it easier for the user, the site owner should provide an easy way to register an account on Steem, which might include crediting the new account with some Steem Power.
2. Criminals will start integrating Steem onto websites. Because many users will just use the owner-key, the criminals will be able to Steal the account or the funds, or use them to upvote their own content on Steem.
