Cuidando un cactus / Caring for a cactus

Traje una nueva planta,
llena de espinas estaba
quería que me acompañará
y en las noches abrazarla. 

La acomode junto a mi cama
y le dije que bienvenida estaba,
intente con la mano acicalarla
y me lastimó con las puas que portaba.

full of thorns, it was
I wanted it to accompany me
and at night to embrace it.

>I placed it next to my bed
and told it that it was welcome,
I tried to groom it with my hand
and it hurt me with the thorns it was carrying.

La contemplo alejada,
no quiero que daño me haga,
es un cactus con espinas innatas
y no se irán, son parte de su alma.

Cuando la planta encontré
en llevarla a casa solo pensé,
la situación no analicé 
y ahora no sé cómo cuidar este ser.

Voy por un empaque especial
de los que son abullonados de más,
los usan para cosas delicadas guardar
y con este me cubro con habilidad.

Ahora me acerco al cactus
y con cuidado lo abrazo,
él sonríe, se siente apreciado
y esta vez daño no me hago.
