Una cebolla ha nacido,
sobre otra de color bonito 
y este pequeño hijo
se siente reprimido,
por la que su madre ha sido,
que no la deja ir a ningún sitio.

Sin dudarlo se marcha,
en una hortaliza naranja,
la corta en rodajas
toma dos como si fueran llantas
y se va rodando con gracia,
dejando su vida pasada. 

>An onion is born,
on another beautifully colored onion 
and this little son
feels repressed,
by the one his mother has been,
who won't let her go anywhere.

>Without hesitation he leaves,
on an orange vegetable,
he cuts it into slices
takes two as if they were tires
and gracefully rolls away,
leaving his past life behind.

En el camino encuentra obstáculos,
cuchillos, cucharas y platos,
un día se cae sobre el suelo mojado
y las llantas se van rodando,
dejando al hijo de la cebolla solitario,
sobre la mesa abandonado. 

Lo más difícil llega después,
cuando un insecto lo quiere comer,
con sus patas lo intenta coger,
pero el hijo de la cebolla valiente es
y logra huir de este ser,
pero no sabe como a casa volver. 

>Along the way he encounters obstacles,
knives, spoons and plates,
one day he falls on the wet ground
and the tires roll off,
leaving the lonely son of the onion
abandoned on the table. 

>The hardest part comes later,
when an insect wants to eat him,
it tries to grab him with its legs,
but the son of the onion is brave
and manages to flee from this being,
but he does not know how to return home.

Se queda sentado un rato,
esperando que alguien venga a salvarlo
y así es, mamá va llegando,
para protegerlo y cuidarlo,
y para decirle que no está solitario,
que ella estará siempre a su lado. 

Ahí el hijo cebolla comprendíó, 
que mamá jamás lo reprimió,
lo que le daba era protección,
pero sin retenerlo por obligación,
porque es un derecho la libertad que eligió.  

>He sits there for a while,
waiting for someone to come and save him
And so it is, mom is coming,
to protect him and take care of him,
and to tell him that he is not alone,
that she will always be by his side. 

>That's when the onion son understood, 
that mom never repressed him,
what she gave him was protection,
but without holding him back out of obligation,
because the freedom he chose is a right.
