Mientras tomo mi café,  
una mariposa viene a ver,
se asoma para el humo oler
y quizás la abriga  también,
aunque podría caer después.  

Y como  si fuera adivina,
la mariposa se precipita,
el humo la dejo impedida,
por la temperatura que tenía 
y el animal cayó en la bebida.

>As I sip my coffee,
a butterfly comes to watch,
peeks out to smell the smoke
and maybe it shelters it too,
though it might fall later.

>And as if it were a fortune teller,
the butterfly rushes,
the smoke leaving it impeded,
because of the temperature it had
and the animal fell into the drink.

Aunque es abusiva,
por acercarse sin invitación recibida,
una cuchara se lanza tranquila,
para sacar la mariposa caída
y tratar de salvar su vida. 

Cuando la cuchara se levanta,
no trae el animal que cayó en la taza,
es un ser con máscara,
marrón, con alas
y con un gorro de hada.

>Although it is abusive,
for approaching uninvited,
a spoon is thrown quietly,
to pull out the fallen butterfly
and try to save its life.

>When the spoon rises,
it does not bring the animal that fell into the cup,
it is a being with a mask,
brown, with wings
and with a fairy hat.

Lo deja sobre la servilleta
y este ahí se seca,
como lo hacen los perros, se revuelca
y va dejando una mancha gruesa,
de café y sin delicadeza. 

Aquel ser, que no sé que es,
se levanta y toma el vuelo otra vez
una mariposa mutante parece ser,
es bella con sus tonos cafés
y quizás no la vuelva a ver.

>He leaves it on the napkin and it dries there, 
like dogs do, it rolls around and leaves a thick stain
and leaves a thick stain,
of coffee and without delicacy.

Mi café aun debe estar caliente,
tomo la taza para beber lentamente,
pero, no queda nada, extrañamente,
la mariposa lo tomó rápidamente
y no dejó ni su aroma fuerte. 

La mariposa nunca mutó,
lo que hizo fue beber sin limitación,
de café su cuerpo llenó 
y mucho, mucho creció,
por eso fue que se transformó.  

>My coffee must still be hot,
I take the cup to drink slowly,
but, strangely, there's nothing left,
the butterfly drank it quickly
and didn't even leave its strong aroma. 

>The butterfly never mutated,
what it did was to drink without limitation,
it filled its body with coffee 
and much, much grew,
that's why it was transformed.
