Una hoja de Laurel pequeña
tomaba el sol sin problema,
el verde permanecía en sus venas
y tenía gafas oscuras bien puestas
para evitar una irritación severa,
en sus ojos que negros eran,

Mientras el Laurel está asoleándose,
pasa un animal chocante
que lleva en su lomo un ser azabache
y a la hoja esto le parece fascinante, 
por eso lo toma sin permiso de nadie,
mientras el extraño sigue campante. 

>A small Laurel leaf
was basking in the sun with no problem,
green remained in its veins
and had dark glasses on tightly
to avoid severe irritation,
in his eyes that were black,

>While the Laurel is basking in the sun,
a shocking animal passes by
carrying on its back a jet-black creature
and the leaf finds this fascinating,
so it takes it without anyone's permission,
while the stranger remains at large.

La hoja ahora tiene un amigo,
negro, con ojos y sin hocico.
¿Qué hará con este individuo?
No debió separarlo de su amigo,
es un ser sin brillo
y de gusto sencillo.

El Laurel toma la criatura rara
y la lleva con desconfianza,
trata de buscar una nueva casa,
un animal que lo lleve a sus espaldas
y así pueda continuar su marcha,
por la gran sabana.

>The leaf now has a friend,
black, with eyes and no snout.
What will it do with this individual?
He should not have been separated from his friend,
he is a dull being
and of simple taste.

>The Laurel takes the strange creature
and carries it with distrust,
tries to find a new home,
an animal that will carry it on its back
so that it can continue its march
through the great savannah.

Cuando el sol se va
y la noche comienza a llegar,
el Laurel vuelve al lugar
y trae consigo algo sin igual,
una linterna que alumbra de verdad
y vuelve la luz a la zona en que están.

La hoja suelta la linterna 
y esta por el cielo trepa,
es la criatura rara que lleva melena 
y que brilla de forma extrema,
dando calor en toda la pradera
mientras el Laurel feliz se asolea. 

>When the sun goes down
and the night begins to come,
the Laurel returns to the place
and brings with him something like no other,
a lantern that really shines
and returns the light to the area where they are.

>The leaf releases the lantern 
and it climbs into the sky,
it is the rare creature that wears a mane 
and that shines in an extreme way,
giving warmth all over the meadow
while the happy Laurel basks in the sun.

Y cuando todos pensamos,
que aquel ser era raro,
oscuro y sin nada extraordinario,
el Laurel nos ha mostrado
que cada criatura tiene un lado mágico 
y que solo debemos motivarlo.

>And when we all thought,
that this being was rare,
obscure and unremarkable,
the Laurel has shown us
that every creature has a magical side 
and that we only have to motivate it
