It is not uncommon for individuals to experience feelings of self-doubt and insecurity, even when things in their lives seem to be going well. This can be a frustrating and confusing experience, as it can be difficult to understand why one's mind would create such negative thoughts and emotions despite external success.

The truth is that our minds are incredibly complex and powerful, and they can often play tricks on us, leading us to believe things that are not entirely true. But it is important to remember that these thoughts and emotions are not always an accurate reflection of reality.

We can overcome these harmful thoughts by practicing self-awareness and self-reflection, and by using techniques such as mindfulness meditation and positive self-talk, we can begin to understand and overcome the mental tricks that our minds are playing on us. Remember to be kind to yourself and to remind yourself that you are doing well, even if your mind tells you otherwise. Trust in your abilities and your strengths, and trust that you are capable of overcoming any obstacle that comes your way.

One of the most common ways that our minds can play tricks on us is through the phenomenon of mental conflict. This occurs when our minds are presented with information that contradicts our beliefs or values.

For example, if we believe that we are a successful and capable person, but we are constantly bombarded with negative thoughts and self-doubt, our minds will struggle to reconcile these two conflicting ideas. As a result, we may begin to believe that we are not as successful or capable as we thought, even though there is no evidence to support this belief.

Also our minds can play tricks on us through the power of negative thinking. According to studies our brains are wired to pay more attention to negative information than positive information, and this can lead us to focus on the negative aspects of our lives and ignore the positive. For example, if we have a great job, a loving partner, and a supportive group of friends, we may still find ourselves dwelling on the one negative thing that happened to us that day, and ignoring all the good things that are happening in our lives. This negative thinking can lead us to believe that we are not doing well, when in reality, we are doing just fine.

Obviously, the power of comparison is another strong negative way our mind plays tricks on us. When we compare ourselves to others, believing that they are doing much better than we are, this can lead us to believe that we are not doing as well as we should be. For example, if we see someone who is more successful than us in terms of career or wealth, we may begin to believe that we are not good enough. This can be particularly damaging when we compare ourselves to those who are in a different stage of life than we are, as this can lead us to believe that we should be further along than we are. Forgetting that life is but stages.

It's important to note that these mental tricks are not necessarily a bad thing. Our minds are designed to protect us and keep us safe, and these negative thoughts and emotions can serve as a warning sign that something needs to change. However, it's important to remember that these thoughts and emotions are not always an accurate reflection of reality.

To combat these mental tricks, it's important we practice self-awareness and self-reflection. By making out time to examine our thoughts and emotions, we can begin to understand where they are coming from and why they are there. This can help us to see that our minds are playing tricks on us and to take steps to change our thoughts and emotions.

Practice mindful meditation. In any possible way you can try focusing on the present moment and observing our thoughts and emotions without judgement. It can help us to understand that our thoughts and emotions are not always an accurate reflection of reality and to let go of negative thoughts and emotions that are not serving us.

Combat these mental tricks is through positive self-talk. Try as much as possible to replace these negative thoughts and emotions with positive ones. Yes, instead of telling yourself that you are not good enough, you can tell yourself that you are capable and worthy and able to achieve or do it. This can help to shift your focus from the negative to the positive, and to see things in a more positive light.
