If I could pet any animal in the world, I would go for a cat. I love that whisker-faced, tail-swinging animal called cat. I fell in love with cats sometimes ago in my aunt's place. And the truth is, that car wasn't ours, it was still very little, I don't know if to say it lost it's way, but it just strolled into our compound that particular evening and sat by our door.

I opened the door and saw it sitting there, it looked at me as if.....well, that look got me hooked. Cats are animals who most times know how to have their way, they know how to make one work for their love and trust, and when you finally earn it.....it feels like you’ve unlocked something special.
I love the way they look and stare, I love their eyes, I love how they stretch in the morning, slow and dramatic, like they’ve just finished running the world in their sleep. I'm always amazed at the way they stare into empty space as if they can see spirits. The way they let out their sounds still amazes me. I love how they curl up, looking calm and quiet, but they’re always alert and watching.
Some say cats are arrogant animals, well, I think they’re just self-respecting. You won’t ever see a cat begging for crumbs under the table like a dog would do. You won't ever see a cat running around, from dump sites to homes and all,No, a cat can look at you as you eat, blink and just leave to curl up somewhere by itself again. You’ll later be the one to get up and fetch it something to eat.
If I had my own cat, I would prefer it to be either pure black or pure white, sounds scary right? I love that. Here in Nigeria, those black ones are often said to be possessed, some call them messengers of the witches. I would prefer female and I'd name it Sissy. Not that I would take it everywhere, but as long as I'm not going too far, it would definitely good to go sightseeing with it.
I would try my best to also ignore those who'd say *“Abeg,no near me with that thing o” when we pass. She would have it's own mat, right there in my room, she would own a plate for food and a small bowl for water, I wouldn't chase it away if it decides to curl up or rest on me. I would feed her from my own food as well, while also lecturing her about good manners.
Also, aside from their beauty, cats are known to be healers. They do their stuff in unexplainable ways.....there are days I feel down and I'd just see it get up to chase a shadow or play with a nylon, sometimes you wont even see or know what it's trying to catch....and by watching all of those you get loosened up. There are times when you are sick, you would just see it look you straight in the eye in a kind of way, then make it's way up to curl up on you, and after few minutes you see it get up, go out and shake itself....and before you know it, you are feeling a lot better.

People say dogs are *loyal,* cat's are loyal as well, they are one of those creatures/pets who would chose it's owner over anything every single day. And when you know or own an animal like that, then you understand what love is.....So, if I could pet an animal, I wouldn't go for a lion, tiger or a leopard. I would choose a cat, they make you feel like the most important person in the whole world while still coming through and helping you heal in their own little way.
