Hola a todos los amigos de #Holus-Lotus. 

Es muy interesante la iniciativa de @iriswrite ya que la vida siempre trae enredos y sucesos que de una forma u otra nos afectan en menor o mayor medida. 
He visto ya varios amigos que se han sumado a la iniciativa y han compartido sus experiencias con temas similares al de Iris. 

Pero en mi caso no hablaré de fechas, ni de nombres, ni de errores burocráticos, sino de otro tipo de error, del que surge de la imprudencia y la curiosidad en demasía. Fue significativo para todos en mi casa y que ahora se cuenta como una anécdota pero que pudo darle un giro a mi vida totalmente diferente si no de hubiera solucionado.

Desde que tengo uso de razón siempre he estado muy apegada a mi papá. Dice mi madre que ella lo entiende porque a ella le pasaba lo mismo con mi abuelo. Y es que con mi padre era muy entretenido pasar el tiempo porque siempre me hablaba de cosas interesantes o estaba enfrascado en alguna labor creativa. Y justamente una de las labores que más yo disfrutaba era cuando él se ponia a construir aviones de aeromodelismo.

 Para mí era tremendamente curioso ver como de sus manos iban saliendo piezas que se iban engranando y armando un avion que luego íbamos a volar al estadio los fines de semana. 
Como pueden darse cuenta mi papá es una figura muy importante para mí y como andaba pegada a él como "un rabito detras de su perro" también me vi envuelta en el mundo del arte, ya que él trabajó muchisimos años en Cultura hasta su jubilación.

 Esto quizas fomentó mis ganas prematuras de estudiar música, específicamente piano. Tenia a mis padres vueltos locos porque yo quería ser pianista pero como no sabía ni leer ni escribir, tuve que esperar a cumplir estos requisitos para poder iniciarme en el mundo musical.
Todo este preámbulo es para explicarles que por poco pierdo no solo la oportunidad de cumplir mi sueño de ser pianista, sino que por poco pierdo uno de mis dedos por curiosa. Por suerte la historia no termina de una manera trágica.

Y resulta que justamente, uno de esos dias en los que mi papa estaba armando un nuevo modelo de avion, él estaba tan ocupado que pidió la ayuda de mi mamá para que buscara por él una pieza en una de sus cajas de herramientas. Yo de curiosa fui tras ella y me puse a registrar también la caja. Mí mamá que estaba ocupada también con las labores de la casa y además ayudando a mi papá, no se dió cuenta cuando yo cogí un supuesto "anillo" que me habia encontrado ahi. Los dos entretenidos en sus asuntos no vieron cuando me puse a la fuerza el anillo que luego no pude sacar porque me quedaba muy ajustado.  

Yo segui jugando hasta que un rato después fui a quejarme de dolor con mi mamá. A pesar de tener tres años y algo, no olvido la cara de susto de mis padres cuando vieron que tenía el dedo medio de mi mano derecha muy inflamado y casi negro. 
Mi papá enseguida reconoció dicho "anillo" y resulta que me habia puesto la parte interna de una caja de bola que es de acero. El intentó cortarla en la casa con una de sus herramientas de trabajo, una piedra de esmeril pero se calentaba mucho el acero y soltaba muchas chispas lo cual me hizo llorar del susto.

Rápido me llevaron al hospital en el carro de un vecino, los médicos les dijeron a mis padres que tenían que amputarme el dedo porque ellos allí no tenían recursos para picar acero ni nada parecido. Mi mamá se echó a llorar del susto pero mi padre fue precavido y llevó sus herramientas previendo que en el hospital no tuvieran equipamiento para un caso como ese y entre él, el médico y dos enfermeros con geringuillas hechando agua contantemente y yo anesteciada para que no  me asustara,  pudieron salvarme el dedo aunque con algunas quemaduras.

 Aún tengo una marca en el dedo y dos mitades del "anillo" que mi padre guarda como recuerdo de ese funesto herror que casi me cuesta muy caro.

Se maginan ustedes si mi papá no hubiera tenido una herramienta para cortar el acero? Habría cambiado por completo mi vida ya que no huviera podido estudiar por nueve años un instrumento que me gusta tanto como el piano. El mundo de la música habria quedado aparte de mí. Y quien s abe cuántos complejos me habria traído por la falta del pequeño miembro.

Por eso hay que estar atentos siempre que hallan niños cerca. Nunca se deben perder de vista por muy tranquilos que sean porque en cualquier momento puede pasar un error que nos cueste caro. Yo por mi parte, comencé a usar anillos que me quedaran anchos o abiertos, incluso estuve buen tiempo sin usar ese tipo de accesorios, aunque ya rebasé el trauma.

**A mistake that almost cost me not only a race, but a finger.**

Hello to all the friends of @Holus-Lotus. 

@iriswrite's initiative is very interesting, as life always brings twists and turns and events that affect us to a greater or lesser extent. I've already seen several friends join the initiative and share their experiences with issues similar to Iris's. 

But in my case, I won't talk about dates, names, or bureaucratic errors, but rather about another kind of error, one that arises from carelessness and excessive curiosity. It was significant for everyone in my house, and it's now told as an anecdote, but it could have turned my life around completely differently if it hadn't been resolved.

For as long as I can remember, I've always been very close to my dad. My mother says she understands because the same thing happened to her with my grandfather. Spending time with my father was a lot of fun because he was always talking to me about interesting things or engrossed in some creative endeavor. And one of the tasks I enjoyed most was when he would build model airplanes. 

For me, it was incredibly interesting to see how his hands would produce pieces that would fit together and assemble an airplane that we would then fly at the stadium on weekends.

 As you can see, my father is a very important figure to me, and since I was attached to him like "a tail on the tail of a dog," I also found myself involved in the art world, as he worked for many years in the Culture Department until his retirement. 

This perhaps fostered my premature desire to study music, specifically piano. I drove my parents crazy because I wanted to be a pianist, but since I couldn't read or write, I had to wait until I met these requirements to get started in the musical world.

 This whole preamble is to explain that I not only almost missed the opportunity to fulfill my dream of being a pianist, but I also almost lost one of my fingers because I was curious. Fortunately, the story didn't end tragically.

And it just so happened that one of those days when my dad was building a new model airplane, he was so busy that he asked my mom to help him look for a part in one of his toolboxes. Out of curiosity, I followed her and started searching the box too. My mom, who was also busy with housework and helping my dad, didn't notice when I picked up a supposed "ring" she'd found there. Both of them, preoccupied with their own business, didn't notice when I forced the ring on, which I couldn't get off because it was too tight. 

I continued playing until a while later I went to complain to my mom about the pain. Despite being three and a bit old, I'll never forget the scared looks on my parents' faces when they saw that the middle finger of my right hand was very swollen and almost black. My dad immediately recognized the "ring," and it turned out he had put the inside of a steel ball bearing on me. He tried to cut it at home with one of his work tools, a grinding stone, but the steel got very hot and threw off a lot of sparks, which made me cry with fright.

They quickly took me to the hospital in a neighbor's car. The doctors told my parents they had to amputate my finger because they didn't have the resources to pick steel or anything like that there. My mom burst into tears of fear, but my father was cautious and brought his tools, anticipating that the hospital didn't have the equipment for a case like that. Between him, the doctor, and two nurses with syringes constantly spraying water, and me being anesthetized so I wouldn't panic, they were able to save my finger, albeit with some burns.

I still have a mark on my finger and two halves of the "ring" that my father keeps as a reminder of that fateful mistake that almost cost me dearly.

 Can you imagine if my father hadn't had a tool to cut steel? My life would have changed completely, since I wouldn't have been able to study an instrument I love so much, the piano, for nine years. The world of music would have been cut off from me. And who knows how many complexes I would have felt about the lack of that little member.

That's why you should always be vigilant when there are children around. You should never lose sight of them, no matter how calm they are, because a costly mistake can happen at any moment. For my part, I started wearing rings that were too loose or too open. I even went a long time without wearing those types of accessories, although I've gotten over the trauma.
