Cada año las empresas [We Are Social](https://wearesocial.com/es/), [Hootsuite](https://www.hootsuite.com/es) y [Datareportal.com](https://datareportal.com/reports/digital-2023-cuba) se unen para hacer el **Informe Global Digital** sobre el uso de internet y las redes sociales. En este informe se recopila información estadísticas tanto global como por países y [Cuba](https://datareportal.com/reports/digital-2023-cuba) es parte de ellos hace unos 4 años, a pesar de que el estudio no logra mayor profundidad ya que se realizan a base de datos públicos y nuestro país se reserva el derecho a acceder a un grupo de informaciones para proteger a sus usuarios.

Según el informe emitido en enero del 2023 y que recoge el comportamiento del año anterior, Cuba tiene una población de un poco más de 11 millones de personas de ellas el 77.5% en zonas de urbanización. A pesar de una apertura masiva a internet “tardía” existen 7.97 millones de usuarios *(de ellos 6.69 millones están en las redes sociales)* y 6.67 millones de celulares con conexión, tengamos en cuenta que las conexiones se cuentan por líneas celulares y no por dispositivo, y en nuestro país una misma persona puede tener hasta 3 líneas.

This report collects statistical information both globally and by country and Cuba is part of them about 4 years ago, although the study does not achieve greater depth because they are made based on public data and our country reserves the right to access a group of information to protect its users.

Desde Cuba el acceso a Internet se realiza desde los celulares (77.20%), laptops o computadoras de escritorio (22.21%) y en menor medida desde los Tablet (0.59%). En parte es por la comodidad de que siempre andas con el cell a todos lados, pero también es resultado de la poca disponibilidad de acceso mediante la conexión cableada o por wifi mediante servicio nauta hogar.

Una de las principales razones del crecimiento en los últimos años del uso de Internet en la isla ha sido el aislamiento físico causado por el COVID-19, una oferta variada conformada por paquetes y una mejor accesibilidad desde el punto de vista económico, ya que luego del “Reordenamiento económico” realizado en el 2021, comprar un paquete que incluye mensajería, llamadas de voz y datos móviles, comparado con el salario actual es “más asequible” que antes. Esto trajo consigo más usuarios conectados y por consiguiente un colapso en el servicio ofrecido, y se ha evidenciado un gran retroceso en cuanto a la velocidad de conexión. Según el informe emitido la velocidad de conexión a Internet de un año a otro mediante celulares (la mayor accesibilidad) ha disminuido nada más y nada menos que un 62.8%.

Entre los sitios más usados están los buscadores webs siendo Google, Bing y Yahoo! los 3 más usados desde Cuba.

Para la mayoría de los cubanos estar en internet es estar en las redes sociales, incluso hay algunos que solamente conocen Facebook y WhatsApp, y alguna otra porque se la muestran o escucha hablar de ella. Según el informe Digital para Cuba 2023 la distribución del top 5 de las redes sociales más usadas son:
1. el 96.51% en Facebook
2. el 2.53% en Pinterest
3. el 0.44% en YouTube
4. el 0.26% en Twitter
5. el 0.18% en Instagram.

6.Buscar nuevas ideas o inspiración.
7.Buscar productos y marcas.
8.Acceder y escuchar música.
9.Procrastinar.
10.Educar y Estudiar.
