<center></center> Jon’s childhood was filled with dusty books, soldering irons and silicon chips. His life so far consisted of strenuous academic work. Driving to his hometown, he reflected on all the things he had learned. Starvation, injustice, discrimination, cruelty, murder all happened regularly. The knowledge he had gained over these years carried a palpable mass of sadness. His mother noted the dark rings under his eyes as they ate. Come to think of it, his posture was rather hunched over. > “Are you sleeping enough?” He brushed off the inquiry with a sly remark, but his complaints about logical inconsistencies within systems and negative aspects of life revealed the tone of the information dwelling in his mind. One thing he mentioned during dinner was of great interest to his mother. > “Imagine everyone shared emotions. How would we let someone else starve if we could feel them starving. How could we kill another man if we could feel the blade penetrating his chest. Maybe our next evolutionary step is to share emotions.” Jon had very elaborate ideas… In his childhood room, he connected his laptop and browsed his usual forums. Amidst the jumble of scientific research displayed on his screen he spied a peculiarly interesting paper: “On the Translation of Human Cognition to Binary". He clicked on the link and started reading. One, two, three hours went by until Jon finally put the computer down. His desk filled with papers covered in scribbles - diagrams, snippets of code and mechanical calculations. The last his mom saw of him was when he swiftly shuffled out of the house at 11 pm that night.
