Hoy les contaré y les mostraré una  maravillosa cascada conocida como el nombre de El Chorrerón de Caripe es una espectacular cascada de unos noventa metros de altura cuyas aguas se precipitan suavemente a través de profundos surcos y grietas presentes en la pared, deslizándose cual delicado manto que bajara lentamente cubriéndola.


Today I will tell you and show you a wonderful waterfall known as the name of El Chorrerón de Caripe is a spectacular waterfall of about ninety meters high whose waters rush gently through deep furrows and cracks present in the wall, sliding like a delicate mantle that slowly come down covering it.

Ubicada al norte del Estado Monagas, a poca distancia de la población de Caripe y dentro de los límites del Parque Nacional El Guácharo, se le llega caminando a través de un sendero que al principio es bastante ancho, empinado y carente de sombra, y que se interna entre pequeños sembradíos desde donde es posible disfrutar de una magnífica vista del embalse de Clavellinos; pero luego se estrecha considerablemente al entrar en la húmeda selva de las laderas del Cerro Negro.

Located in the north of Monagas State, a short distance from the town of Caripe and within the limits of El Guácharo National Park, it is reached by walking through a path that at the beginning is quite wide, steep and lacks shade, and that it goes into small fields from where it is possible to enjoy a magnificent view of the Clavellinos reservoir; but then it narrows considerably as it enters the humid jungle on the slopes of Cerro Negro.

El camino parte desde la población de Sabana de Piedra, muy cerca de San Agustín, en la vía que une a Caripe con el Muelle de Cariaco. El trayecto no es fuerte, pero tiene algunos tramos rocosos y otros en donde el terreno se torna bastante resbaloso, pero que no implica mayores riesgos.

The road starts from the town of Sabana de Piedra, very close to San Agustín, on the road that connects Caripe with the Cariaco Pier. The route is not strong, but it has some rocky sections and others where the terrain becomes quite slippery, but that does not involve major risks.

El recorrido, desde el inicio del sendero hasta la base de la cascada es de dos horas. Al llegar, podrá disfrutar de un refrescante baño al pie de la cascada… si es que usted es capaz de soportar lo frío del agua. Tenga cuidado al entrar, las piedras son muy resbalosas.

The route, from the beginning of the trail to the base of the waterfall, is two hours. Upon arrival, you can enjoy a refreshing swim at the foot of the waterfall ... if you can bear the cold of the water. Be careful when entering, the stones are very slippery.

Iniciamos la caminata bien temprano en la mañana, cuando el sol aún está bajo. Nosotros hicimos el recorrido en compañía de los amigos de Magic Kingdom Excursionistas, quienes amablemente nos guiaron en el camino a explorar las maravillas naturales del norte del Estado Monagas; muchas de las cuales son poco conocidas.
Sin lugar a dudas, la caminata al Chorrerón de Caripe es un paseo emocionante, realmente espectacular que no dudamos en recomendarles.

We recommend starting the walk very early in the morning, when the sun is still low. We did the tour in the company of friends from Magic Kingdom Excursionistas, who kindly guided us on the way to explore the natural wonders of the north of the Monagas State; many of which are little known.
Without a doubt, the walk to Chorrerón de Caripe is an exciting, truly spectacular walk that we do not hesitate to recommend.

¿Cómo llegar?

Para visitar el Chorrerón deben ir a la ciudad de Caripe, en el Estado Monagas.
El acceso a Caripe se hace a través de tres vías principales: Cumaná-Muelle de Cariaco-Caripe, Cumaná-Cumanacoa-Caripe o Maturín-Caripe. Las tres se encuentran en un estado relativamente bueno, aunque la innumerable cantidad de reductores de velocidad o “policías acostados” colocados a lo largo de todas ellas, tanto en los pueblos como en cualquier pequeño caserío, y la gran mayoría sin señales de advertencia al conductor, hacen el trayecto algo fastidioso.

To visit the Chorrerón you must go to the city of Caripe, in the Monagas State.
Access to Caripe is through three main routes: Cumaná-Muelle de Cariaco-Caripe, Cumaná-Cumanacoa-Caripe or Maturín-Caripe. All three are in relatively good condition, although the innumerable number of speed bumps or "lying policemen" placed throughout all of them, both in towns and in any small hamlet, and the vast majority without warning signs at the driver, they make the journey somewhat tedious.
