En días pasados comencé a ver en la red social Instagram repleta de fotografías de mujeres en blanco y negro con el hashtag Challenge Accepted, luego esta nueva tendencia se fue trasladando hacia nuestra plataforma _Hive_.

Básicamente el objetivo de este reto es promover el respeto y la aceptación entre mujeres más allá de las barreras impuestas por la sociedad, creando una gran red de apoyo femenino. Debo dar las gracias a @keritroberts por haberme invitado a participar en este reto, por lo que ahora es mi turno de decir: _**Reto Aceptado**_.

In the past few days I started to see on the Instagram social network full of black and white photographs of women with the Challenge Accepted hashtag, then this new trend moved to our platform _Hive_.

Basically the goal of this challenge is to promote respect and acceptance among women beyond the barriers imposed by society, creating a great network of female support. I must thank @keritroberts for inviting me to participate in this challenge, so now it is my turn to say: _**Challenge Accepted**_.

En la antigüedad, el rol de la mujer en la sociedad era menospreciado y básicamente pasaba a segundo plano. Socialmente estaba muy mal visto que las mujeres tuviesen absoluta libertad para tomar sus propias decisiones o para cumplir sus aspiraciones e incluso en el ámbito laboral el rol de las mujeres era completamente opacado. Por poner un ejemplo, en el mundo científico fueron muchas mujeres como Rosalind Franklin, Marie Curie, Lise Meitner, entre otras; que trabajaron arduamente para lograr grandes aportes a la ciencia, pero debido al gran machismo y la desigualdad de género que existía para la época estas grandes mujeres de la Ciencia no recibieron el reconocimiento merecido, sino hasta muchos años después de fallecer.

In ancient times, the role of women in society was undervalued and basically pushed into the background. Socially it was very badly seen that women had absolute freedom to make their own decisions or to fulfil their aspirations, and even in the work environment the role of women was completely overshadowed. To give an example, in the scientific world there were many women like Rosalind Franklin, Marie Curie, Lise Meitner, among others; who worked hard to achieve great contributions to science, but due to the great machismo and gender inequality that existed for the time these great women of science did not receive the recognition they deserved, until many years after their deaths.

Afortunadamente, todo esto ha ido cambiando con el paso del tiempo y la participación de la mujer en todos los aspectos de su vida personal y social es cada vez mayor, teniendo una completa libertad para tomar sus propias decisiones siendo un ejemplo de fortaleza y liderazgo. Pero aunque la sociedad actual se considere igualitaria todavía existe el machismo y la discriminación, maltrato y violencia en contra de las mujeres siguen siendo noticias del día a día, lo cual nos da a entender que hay un fallo en el sistema y es por esto que cada día más debemos unirnos y alzar nuestra voz para hacer respetar nuestros derechos.

Fortunately, all this has changed over time and women's participation in all aspects of their personal and social lives is increasing, having complete freedom to make their own decisions and being an example of strength and leadership. But even though today's society is considered egalitarian, machismo still exists and discrimination, abuse and violence against women are still daily news, which gives us to understand that there is a fault in the system and that is why every day we must unite and raise our voice to make our rights respected.

Me empodera mi perseverancia, el esfuerzo y la dedicación con la que suelo hacer las cosas que me apasionan. Soy de esas personas que persiguen sus metas y no descansan hasta lograr el objetivo.

Me empodera también mi creatividad y las ganas de conocer el mundo que nos rodea, entender el  porqué y la razón de ser de cada una de las cosas que existen a nuestro alrededor.
