Olvídense de seguir comprando esas bolsas de chips de papa o patata que venden en el supermercado, porque hoy les compartiré una recetita muy genial para que las prepares tú mismo en casa. Puede que no resulten con la misma textura y color como las que venden el supermercado y además puede que tome un poco más de tiempo prepararlas en comparación al tiempo que inviertes en tomar la bolsa de chips de la estantería, pero créanme cuando les digo que vale mucho la pena tomarse el tiempo de preparar algo tú mismo con ingredientes que sabes que son de calidad y para nada procesados. Además, al final de cuentas tu cuerpo te lo agradecerá.

Para preparar estas chips de papa sabor a limón empleé tres papas pequeñas que piqué lo más delgadas posibles, ya que mientras más fino resulte el corte más crujientes quedarán. Luego de haberlas colocado en un tazón, añadí una cucharada de aceite de oliva y el jugo de un limón. También añadí sal al gusto y un poco de pimienta y orégano. Traté de no abusar demasiado del orégano porque a veces siento que su sabor puede llegar a ser muy invasivo y realmente quería que el sabor del limón predominara un poco más.

Mezclé todo muy bien para que cada lonja de papa se impregnara suficiente con el limón, el aceite y los condimentos. Luego, forré una bandeja con papel aluminio y esparcí las lonjas de papas de tal forma que no quedaran demasiado pegadas entre sí, ni unas encimas de otra. Horneé a 180 °C durante unos 20 minutos hasta que estuvieron doraditas y muy crujientes. También pueden prepararse en la freidora de aire, casi el mismo tiempo.

>To prepare these lemon-flavored potato chips I used three small potatoes that I chopped as thin as possible, since the thinner the cut, the crispier they will be. After placing them in a bowl, I added a tablespoon of olive oil and the juice of a lemon. I also added salt to taste and a little pepper and oregano. I tried not to overdo the oregano too much because sometimes I feel that its flavor can become too invasive and I really wanted the lemon flavor to predominate a bit more.

>I mixed everything very well so that each potato slice was sufficiently impregnated with the lemon, oil and seasonings. Then, I lined a tray with aluminum foil and spread the potato slices in such a way that they were not too much stuck together, nor on top of each other. I baked them at 180 °C (350 °F) for about 20 minutes until they were golden brown and very crispy. They can also be prepared in the air fryer, about the same time.

¿Ya ven por qué les digo que valen la pena? Estas chips quedan súper crujientes y el ligero toque a limón es todo lo que está bien en esta vida. Además, no toman tanto tiempo en realizarse, mientras mis chips de papas estuvieron en el horno yo tuve tiempo de preparar una pechuga de pollo a la plancha con mi respectiva dosis de vegetales para acompañar a estas chips y básicamente ese fue mi almuerzo. Aunque las chips caseras sabor a limón pueden servir también como snack (uno saludable, realmente) o incluso ¿por qué no? pueden ser el acompañante ideal para unas deliciosas hamburguesas caseras.

Síii, es muy sencilla y lo mejor es que el resultado es todo un éxito. Yo las comí en el almuerzo, pero pueden comerse de snack o incluso sirven para llevar a un compartir y acompañarlas con alguna salsa o crema para untar especial.

No tienes ni idea de lo crujientes que son...ojalá uno en una fotografía pudiese anexar audio jaja. Y, ¿sabes qué es lo mejor? que lo mismo puede hacerse con la batata y con los plátanos. Así que definitivamente adiós a las chips del súper.
