It takes different processes in achieving anything In life, the same thing applies to babies, they have to go through the crawling process, they try to stand on their own and so many times they'll tumble while trying it out, but that doesn't stop them from trying again until they were able to master their balance. It's always a delightful scene watching a baby trying to make a balance as they take their first step.



Babies are always fun to be with, they displayed different characters that will always put a smile on your face. The most exciting moment I have had with babies is when they began to take their first step, the feeling of seeing a baby who used to be in the arm decides to make an effort to get up is amazing and  I see it as a great achievement in the development of a baby, and that's what the majority is anticipating while nurturing a baby.




I'm gonna share the experience I have with my younger sister when she was a baby and how she took her first step. I was a little girl then. I was overwhelmed with the joy of the arrival of a newborn baby, I always love to stay around her, I could remember how I use to stay around my mother while I watch the baby with a grin on my face. I will want to do everything to help my baby sister,  I pacify her when she cries and sang lullabies until she falls asleep, all this worth having another member to the family. As a child, whenever I'm bored, she was always there to play around with, and I so much love her smile.




As time goes on, she began to crawl with her tummy, as a child, I was concerned if she will not hurt her belly, but my mother will always say "Nothing will happen to her, you also did the same while growing up". From crawling with her tummy, she learned how to crawl with her kneels, Sometimes she could be so fast while crawling with her kneels, I use to pity her while she do that, I'm afraid she will hurt her kneels, but I got to realize it's a process a baby needs to pass through.



She started trying to stand by holding chairs, so many times she will hurt herself while trying to stand and I hate seeing her cry, I'll pet her and she will continue with the struggle to stand on her feet. Sometimes I held her hands to help her stand and after a while, she tumble. I don't like seeing her fall, but my mother will always say, the more she falls, the more she'll develop a mature gait, that's the belief of every African parent and that's what I have grown to believe too.




Finally, the day my baby sister took her first was a surreal experience, It happened when I least expected it. I have to go and call my mother with excitement that she took a step to walk, It was a memorable moment because that was my first time to witness a baby taking her first step, the feeling was indescribable. Then I will watch her taking steps while I sing for her, gradually she will walk to where I stand till she finally falls into my arms, I make sure I guide her until she was able to gain her balance while walking, it was a fun moment for me watching her taking those steps.
