Dreams can be the key to our subconscious mind. In my culture we believe Dreams have meaning. Everything has meaning, energy and life. 
Not having a dream can mean you need to sleep more. At times when I reach complete exhaustion I don't dream. It's as though I close my eyes and the alarm suddenly goes off. 
I personally believe that our Dreams can help us to sort out our thoughts in a visual way that helps us to understand better. 
Lucid dreaming is also great. The realization that you want to change something in your dream and having the ability to. This is learned by mindfulness meditation. 
Mindfulness meditation can help so many aspects of our lives. Being able to acknowledge pain and have it not bother us as much anymore. 
Our body receives pain as a way of telling us there is something wrong or something happening. Which is why when you go to the gym and work out, if you don't the next day you hurt even more. Because your muscles are becoming used to the exercise and when they don't get it they scream wanting it. 
Personally however that is not the only case due to my extensive nerve damage in my abdomen from the birth of my last child. 
There are so many children being born every day that we take for granted that it is something that happens and they know how to do it, forgetting the thousands of women that have died from giving birth. 
Even birth control wasn't invented for many years so if someone was to become pregnant they were forced to keep it or go to a sketchy person in a back alley and hope they don't die. 
My ADHD is showing though. My nerve pain was caused by something called a placenta acreta. The placenta forms while pregnant to give the baby much needed things such as air, food and water. After giving birth to the baby the placenta is delivered. Many animals eat it because of the nutrients it contains. 
Normally there is a gap between the uterus and placenta so it can safely be delivered with baby. 
However mine deeply attached to my uterus making it impossible for it to be delivered safely. 
But it didn't stop there. Because of having previous c-section deliveries due to complications I had previous scar tissue which caused my placenta to also go through the tissue, through my bladder and through my abdominal wall. 
The surgery was intense and required many doctors to be there. Specialists in their field. It seems as though if something is rare and could possibly happen, I have it happen.
