Bitcoin going up forever is really the return of the altcoins.

Trump appoints a Bitcoin supporting politician to be U.S Budget Director. Bitcoin maximalists turn in their liberal cards for guns, gold and crypto. What a time we live in. Even though the first huge move up is going to draw money out of alt-coins. Bitcoin at 2k sure means alt-coin "pumps" for days. Correct me if I am wrong but I think the last time we saw alt-coins in general do well (not just ETH)  was right after Bitcoin topped out around 1k. When the market turned down it started in alt-coins then moved to Bitcoin. When the overall crypto market turns up, it usually starts in Bitcoin and then moves to alts.

I was thinking about getting a debit card for bitcoin but concerned about the tax part of things. I know i don't have to pay any capital gains tax if i hold but if i sell some btc for something using the debit card does anyone know if i technically should have to pay capital gains tax is US of A?
