I still don't know what is going on fully so have exchanged any Bitcoin out into other coins, including Steem.     Litecoin has been fairly stable price wise.  However, nothing is a safe bet and I hope everyone knows that, and enjoy the ride.

i have $200 Australian dollars worth of Bitcoin on Coinjar exchange and have no experience - i don't know if i can open a wallet fast enough that would support the new coin and am not sure how to send it there either if i open one? I think with such a small balance it might not qualify for any new coin anyway but i dont know anything. Thanks for dropping in on my post Matt, i appreciate that so i came to see who you are. David

I put all my Bitcoin on a KeepKey hardware wallet months ago after I got uncomfortable holding it on a phone hot wallet.
If you keep your Bitcoin on an exchange, stop doing that, it's one of the first things any Bitcoin savvy person will tell you.
Hold your own private keys/seed phrase, hold your own wallet, control your own coins.

KeepKey have stated (on Reddit oddly) they are going to support both BTC and BCH and enable exchanging one for the other through their secure Shapeshift integration, though that might not be ready on day one of the fork yet.

For the first few days after August 1st I'm not doing any transactions.
I'm sure I will keep my BTC, I'm not sure yet if I'll sell my BCH when that becomes possible.
There is a very small chance BTC could die and BCH becomes "true" Bitcoin, just in case, I'm holding my BCH until I can see which way the wind is blowing.

I'm not a trader and am not that interested in quick profits here and there.
I consider my Bitcoin as savings together with my gold and silver.

The fork itself I'm not that happy with, it creates uncertainty and the entire Bitcoin community now has to know about one extra thing and consider their actions because of it.

On the other hand, you can't stop people from forking, there might be more forks in the future, and the more they happen, the more we can all get used to them and improve our game plans and software to cope.
It's a learning experience.
It's just something the community will have to deal with, might as well get good at it.

Maybe if the next fork isn't announced only 2 bloody weeks in advance it won't be so much of a hassle.
We will know what to do, what not to do, how to protect our holdings, and maybe how to profit, because the last fork (this one) let us learn all these things.
If after this fork you read horror stories of people losing coins, spending coins they didn't want to spend, LEARN from their mistakes, and never make them yourselves.

Smart people learn from the mistakes of others.
Normal people learn from their own mistakes.
Dumb people never learn.

I put my BTC into Bitfinex to trade into alts once trading is back. Get some bitshares, EOS or something with potential! I do want that BTC-U, are they really taking a snapshot that same day?
Jaxx will support it and they are fairly safe, so I will move it there if I can get the 3rd, better coin haha.. As always cold wallets or hardware wallets are the best. I'm lazy and I have faith though!
So I traded some of my alts into BTC so I can sell off after the fork into alts, expecting them to start rising pretty quickly again. Hopefully it works out. Open to suggestions or counter theories though!?

Hey matt my man, how are you doing. Tried to reach you at #deadworld irc, but, since i reached the right channel, i did not find you. I hope you understand this comment, since im a bit irritaded. I was really happy when i saw mate matt upvoted the elephants, and then i saw you un-vote again. I just wanna understand if there is anything you got salty about, really hoped the people like my ai work.

And then i have something about bcc, what do you think how deep will the dump go? I sold mine bcc at around 800 Usd and i saw it dropped below 300 Usd. Could you imagine we will see something like 80 dollars?

@matt-a - HONESTLY - I think I'm in a shit of trouble dude - I don't hold trash bags full of coins - and started out on Poloniex because of the user-friendly aspect long ago - then noticed that the walls, the buy/sell proves didn't equate to real time and am certain that they are in on the pump schemes just as much if not more than the largest whale pump groups or single whales.. 

Last night like an idiot I tried to transfer BTC to Poloniex only because Coinbase said there may be no withdrawals temporarily.. And because I've been trying other exchanges but haven't had much better yet as a mobile trader.

2. Chose Coinbase as most secure I thought for US holders and not to use exchanges to hold BTC 

3.  Coinbase does not as far as I read 

4.  I think my remaining BTC in Coinbase will be safe as it's a US company but ya never know 

5. Gameplan?? Stick to playing the board game called STEEMIT for now and contribute to try and calitalizevthe best I can as a lonely minnow - Minnow both without stunt Growth plates lol

6. Thoughts of the fork? I don't even understand how it will work or how any entity could double BCCC at 1:1 with BTC holding its value as many predictions I've heard have said.

7. Gameplan - Follow the advice of people like you who know way more about it than me.

8. Wildcard - Even though I despise Pump and Dump schemes - I was quite impressed how many coins were successfully pumped all at once - a good 20-25 on Poloniex with 4-6 hours of continual Pumps - I made a few ducketd following the money and do like the very straight 45 degree angle line for. STEEM - up until about 30 minutes ago - was praying STEEMIT wasn't getting pumped to dumpy -

9.  BONUS - IF BITTREX DEAL IS REAL HOW FAST CAN I OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM - Gave up on Kraken after like 3 weeks of waiting for approvals

I only hold a little BTC right now, which is on Bittrex.com exchange.

The majority of my holdings are on the Bitshares DEX and I didn't like having everything in one basket. Bittrex also gives me liquidity in a few extra trading pairs.

my folio right now is 80% alts 20% btc 
I am holding my btc in a Electrum wallet ! 
The plan is to dump half BCC and rebuy lower ! BCC is another alt but since someone is buying there are chances to do something , after all is free money right ??
