One of the reasons that most makes us hesitate when purchasing an electric vehicle is the issue of battery recharging, not only because at the moment the number of recharging stations distributed throughout the geography of the different countries is far from resembling this of the gas stations, but also by the times necessary for its recharge.

Historically, during long trips we stop at gas stations for 10 or 15 minutes, just enough time to fill the tank and pee, but with batteries things get complicated because we are already talking about hours to make a full charge and this already messes up trip planning, plus spending extra time and money while we wait.

The American startup Adden Energy, with the help of Harvard University, promises to revolutionize the world of batteries in a few years, it is about the design of a lithium-metal cell battery that can last 20 years, which is already a great achievement in itself, and the structure of these batteries is compatible with ultra-fast charging.

>La startup americana Adden Energy con la ayuda de la Universidad de Harvard, promete revolucionar el mundo de las baterías en unos pocos años, se trata del diseño de una batería de celdas de litio-metal que pueden llegar a durar los 20 años lo que ya constituye un gran logro de por sí, además la estructura de estas baterías es compatible con la carga ultrarrápida.

Normally ultra-fast charging beyond 400 or 500 kW affects the life of the battery but, with this development, charging times of 3 minutes have been achieved and, despite everything, the battery still has 82% of the original capacity after more than 10,000 charge cycles, achieving a performance of 20 years in the most recent tests.

If normally these developments take a long time to become daily, it seems that Adden Energy has started the process to commercialize this technology, with the necessary capital to export these batteries and charging points all over the world, which would be a milestone for charging of electric vehicles.

>Si normalmente estos desarrollos tardan mucho tiempo en hacerse cotidianos, parece que Adden Energy ha iniciado el proceso para comercializar esta tecnología, con el capital necesario para exportar estas baterías y puntos de carga por todo el mundo, lo que sería todo un hito para la carga de los vehículos eléctricos.

Personally, what fascinates me the most about all this is the speed at which all these technologies are being innovated, just over a decade ago nobody would have given a euro for electric cars and now, practically every month new technologies emerge that improve well the batteries or the motors or both at the same time.
That's why, despite all the shit that seems to surround us, we live in the best period in history.

Por eso, a pesar de toda la mierda que aparentemente nos rodea, vivimos en el mejor periodo de la historia.
