Historically, geologists studying the characteristics and routes followed by seismic waves, plus the experiments carried out by subjecting the rocks of the surface to high temperatures and pressures, in addition to the movement, gravity and magnetic field of the Earth have deduced that the interior of the Earth It is made up of several layers.

On the one hand we have the crust that is the most superficial part and whose thickness varies from 5 km at sea level to 70 km in the outer layers, formed by igneous rocks composed of magnesium and iron silicates in the oceanic crust and by aluminum-potassium-sodium silicate rocks in the continental crust.

Below this is the mantle that extends to a depth of 2,890 km, which makes it the thickest layer, it is composed of silicate rocks rich in iron and magnesium and although in principle it is solid, the high temperatures make it become ductile enough to be able to flow at very long time scales.

>Debajo de ésta se encuentra el manto que se extiende hasta una profundidad de 2.890 km lo que lo convierte en la capa más gruesa, está compuesto de rocas de silicato ricas en hierro y magnesio y aunque en principio es sólido las altas temperaturas hacen que se vuelva dúctil como para poder fluir a escalas de tiempo muy grandes.

Finally we find the core that consists of two parts, a solid inner core composed of iron and nickel with an approximate radius of 1220 km and an outer core also composed of iron and nickel but this time in a liquid state, which is responsible for the  magnetic field that protects us from cosmic radiation.

>Finalmente encontramos el núcleo que consta de dos partes, un núcleo interno sólido compuesto de hierro y níquel con un radio aproximado de 1220 km y un núcleo más externo compuesto también por hierro y níquel pero esta vez en estado líquido, que es el responsable del campo magnético que nos protege de la radiación cósmica.

But according to recent studies it seems that the inner part of the nucleus can be composed of two different layers, this has been achieved by applying a new search algorithm to the entire historical set of seismic data, obtained by different techniques, on the behavior of waves seismic through the different layers.

>Pero según estudios recientes parece ser que la parte interna del núcleo puede estar compuesta por dos capas distintas, esto lo han conseguido aplicando un nuevo algoritmo de búsqueda a todo el conjunto histórico de datos sísmicos obtenidos por distintas técnicas, sobre el comportamiento de las ondas sísmicas a través de las distintas capas.

The results are not yet conclusive but at least the geologists already have one more tool and at least, based on this study, they have already managed to explain some anomalies observed in previous studies.

>Los resultados no son todavía concluyentes pero al menos los geólogos ya cuentan con una herramienta mas y por lo menos basándose en este estudio ya se han conseguido explicar algunas anomalías observadas en estudios realizados anteriormente.
