The latest promo card is out and ready for seal but with a bit of a twist. It is nice to see that long term players or whales who invested a decent amount in staked SPS can take advantage of this offer.

As of the snapshot I can purchase up to 144 Pickle cards, which is 21,600 DEC to purchase that amount of cards.  Will it be worth it though?

In the open market right now the cheapest Pickle card at 100BCX is cheaper than paying directly from promotion. 150 DEC x 100 is 15,000 DEC.  On the open market it is lower at a little under 12k DEC.

I imagine some buyers have obtained black and gold foil from in game purchases so are willing to sell the regular cards under actual prices.  This maybe a bargain for those who have liquidity.

The card at max level have some nice combination of abilities.  It is a very good tanker when combined with weapons training.  The max level health of seven and toughness of four makes it a challenge to knock out when going against melee and range.  On the other hand it would have been nice to see the promo card with one of the new abilities as part of the new ones that came with Conclave rollout.

What is intriguing there is phase 2 and 3 involved in this promotion that incorporates other parts of the Splinterlands ecosystem.  Such as creating tickets with land plots.  The new item from Alcane potions to now tickets makes this whole land plot production that much more lucrative.  I can imagine in future additions land production can roll out all kinds of items.

In phase 3 the grand old tradition of auctions that have been so successful in past promos is also integrated into this Pickle card.  If things goes similar to past auctions I would assume a ton of DEC would drain out of circulation.  Hopefully this will put down the quantity of DEC and in turn raise the value of DEC.
