Scraping by in life to get enough steem

Today I found out that my favorite daily giveaway of SBD posts are being flagged down. @troglodactyl with a significant SP is down voting @minnow.helper, @fogel, @dayhappy and other free SBD posts. From my understanding @troglodactyl is down voting the posts because they are not contributing to the steemit community. I am sad to see a lose for earning stream from these authors who are willing to give away their earned SBD. Our upvotes in curation always go 100% into SP. Therefore to the many who have no extra money to invest into steemit this is one outlet to earn some. The SBD has grown 10x for over a week now so any earned SBD is a significant boost to red fishes and minnows.

I think to the few who have a lot of SP have forgotten that the many who do not have a part in benefiting steemit when they participate. Without a growing population of users there would not be as much demand for the platform. To those who believe free giveaway posts are spam I disagree. It is similar to upvote bots where there is another way to share wealth and enhance user experience. If we take away this outlet it will mean one less way for noobs and low income participants to gain a solid footing on steemit. While top earners continue to upvote their own posts and their ring of friends to increase their intake of the reward pool.

The more upvotes in the free SBD giveaways the more power red fish and minnows will have. By taking that away is like removing the ever tiny bit of power we have and hence slow the growth of steemit. I am aware the reverse argument to this is write better articles and create something worth remembering. My argument back is many red fishes go unnoticed for writing good material and that sometimes a little SBD goes along way in promoting their articles. Of course the wealth can be spread to big whales too if they felt like upvoting in the SBD giveaway posts. I think this is much better than users who simply upvote their own comments and posts. The use of an upvote is applied to others which is the goal of an upvote. To share the wealth among the users. The cycle of moving ones earnings into another is so easily applied when on steemit. Why hinder this process when the method used is to provide a service to all those who choose to use it.

Instead of scams where people have multiple accounts and continuously upvote their main account. Or liars who sell their upvotes and later not provide any and take their investor's money. There are so many other unethical and immoral ways people are earning steem that should be down voted instead of giveaway posts.

Thank you for posting a link to your old post, it has been one of the most helpful reads I have had.  I have expressed frustration with trying to build and bring value to the forum and this is one of those articles that I wish I would have had in the beginning.  @mawit07 has been helping me navigate the waters as a new minnow, and your article is a great help in growing my knowledge base. I don't need any of the proceeds - feel free to quote or link or anything. Thank you so much for the compliments. I was so sick of hearing "just keep posting for nothing," so I gathered those tips. I'm glad for any publicity :) 

I will add that looking for contests and giveaways is very lucrative right now. Many happy steemers are giving away their booty, so be on the lookout. I've entered about 10 and won at least half in the last two weeks.

Yes there is a link in that post regarding steemit faucets. People who pay back for getting upvotes. Another writer has the same opinion as me regarding getting SBD from upvotes. So yeah I thought I was one of few that appreciate the steemit faucets.
