Splinterlands - My End Of Season 5 Review

This past season ended up being a poor showing for me in regards to play 2 earn.  I mainly played below my average and with that the rewards were not stellar.

<h2>My Stats For The Season</h2>

My win to loss ratio was below one and I ended right below the threshold to get to diamond league at 2770.  My overall gold ranking was in the top 700 which I consider respectable, but still overall not getting as many wins as I typically would have in a regular season just does not sit well.

<h2>My Rewards Luck</h2>

Without the lone +20k DEC chest I pulled during the season I would have ended up somewhere in the 10k DEC rewards earned.  That lower value will be a low for me since the new in play rankings were introduced.

Also worth mentioning just within this past season I have collected 153 Legendary potions and 175 Alchemy potions.  This is remarkably high considering I spent over a month in the past to earn these kinds of amounts.

<h2>Rental Earnings</h2>

Rental earnings overall drop significantly as I barely crossed over 30k DEC earned for the season.  There are a couple reasons for the drop.  For one the new battle format of modern and wild has lead to players leaning toward more of the new versions of cards in Untamed and Chaos.  Those sets in my belief is stronger than other, and since I lack the cards in either set my rental income has been falling.  Another reason for the drop in earnings is because I did little to no review on revising prices based on demand.

<h2>Conclusions</h2>

Midway through August I have yet to add purchased cards into my collection.  The plan is to accumulate DEC and holding them in hopes it reaches back to par at $0.001 each.

For the new season I will continue to play and hopefully do well.  If I can do a repeat of this past season that is fine too temporarily.  That is earn DEC more than my usual.

I stick with renting out cards but will review prices a bit more to see if I can make up more. All my liquidity has shifted into pools. Mostly dec:hive and sps:hive. The liquidity is in preparation to getting some new packs like the upcoming rift watchers.

I would hope once land and needing cards for lands rolls out that the rental market would get a bit more hot. Liquidity pools long run should be a great option and could be fueled with the rental income.

Rentals did take a hit this season and i felt it as well.
I also found it the hardest ever season to move up the ranks and only broke out of gold in the last couple of days in the season. Normally it takes a couple of days.
