Okay, it depends on how you insert the picture, If you're using a pc for your post; just open a folder containg your pictures, restore down the folder window so that you can still view your steemit editor window, drag the your choice picture to the editor and allow it to upload 100% then you can continue writing under the img code in the editor. hope the screenshot under can help more, I used windows PC.
