# LOVE CONQUERS CRUELTY AND WICKEDNESS.

Psa 74:20-21 says;
>>**Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty. O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise thy name**.

Darkness triumphs in the absence of light. Anywhere light is absent darkness invades. Our theme verses say 'the dark places of earth are full of the habitations of cruelty. Therefore, the oppressed, the needy and poor are ashamed.' Where are the dark places of the earth? Interestingly, the Hebrew word translated earth means; the land, the country, the district, the city, etc. 


These territories comprises of people! The other compound word to translate is the 'habitations of cruelty', which in essence means, cruelty has found a pleasant resting place to thrive! Why should anyone, let alone God's children allow cruelty or wickedness find a luxuriant place to thrive. If anything should thrive it ought to be love. So, why does cruelty thrive?

Cruelty or wickedness thrives because dark places remain on earth. The world still has dark places, because light hasn't gotten to every corner of the earth. Remember, the word 'earth' ultimately means people; there are people who still haven't received the light. What is this light? According to the scripture, Jesus said in John 8:12 "I am the light of the world..." The Lord is not a light of the world, but the light of the world, the true Light! There are men and women out there who are yet to receive this light. Until they do, sadly they are the dwelling place for all manner of wickedness.
