Deforestation: Where is the world losing the most trees?

Why are we chopping down all the trees without replacing them?

Every year large areas of forest are lost. Some of it is due to illegal logging, but much of it is perfectly legal. When will someone do something about this? We are destroying our planet.

- experts warn that deforestation is a major issue facing the world
- there are 3 000 000 000 000 trees on Earth
- 1,000 football fields of forests are lost per hour for the last 25 years

I hate to see trees being cut. Nothing as serene as standing under the shade of a big tall tree

I don't know but it bothers me too. We just bought land were there are a few dead trees on the property, that have to come down, but for each one that has to come down, two will be planted to replace them.
