Hi everyone! I remember reading this book mainly because of the different remarks I heard about it without knowing anything at all about Frankenstein.

Well, I definitely wasn't disappointed after reading it, but, on the contrary, I had a big surprise about it. 

Although it was written in **1817**, it still gives you those thrills and seems to be very up-to-date for these times.

[Frankestein](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frankenstein) tells the story of a young scientist, Victor Frankenstein, who creates a grotesque creature in a scientific experiment.

*The scientist was horrified by what he had made, rejects his creation, and tries to escape from it.*

**The creature** was intelligent but rejected by people because of its appearance. Therefore, considering it has the right to be happy, the creature demands its creator to create a female companion for him. The demand comes with threatens of ruining Victor by killing his friends and loved ones. Victor has to agree with it and the creature decides to follow the process. Finally, after killing some of Victor's friends, the creature decides to kill itself because of the sorrow of being alone.

*All this story is framed by a fictional correspondence* between Captain Robert Walton and his sister, Margaret Walton Saville, correspondence written in epistolary form.

**Frankenstein** is a common misnomer for the Creature. In Shelley's book, the creature had no name, but it was rather called "monster", "demon", "beast" or "abortion". In the absence of a name, after the novel became very well known, the confusion grew. This is how the creature became famous as "Frankenstein" even though Frankenstein was, in fact, the one who created the frightening creature in the laboratory. A much more adequate term for the creature would be "Frankenstein's monster."
