Hola Amigos de Geek Zone ¿Cómo están? Espero que estén super bien y sean bienvenidos a una nueva publicación hecha por mí. Hoy vuelvo ante ustedes con algo super genial, creo que es algo tan épico que decidí dejarlo como mi última publicación del año 2022, fue un año increíble donde tuve la fortuna de conocer gente maravillosa y probar dispositivos nuevos para el uso de mi carrera. 

El tema de hoy es un aparato que me dejó con la boca abierta por más de dos horas, también me dejo con el cerebro cansado por varios minutos, es un dispositivo que una persona debe probar al menos una vez en su vida, desde pequeño siempre quise tener uno, pero con el tiempo me di cuenta que es demasiado delicado en manos equivocados.

Para empezar, alguno de ustedes conoce el Oculus Rift este dispositivo de realidad virtual donde la persona se coloca unas gafas y se adentra a un mundo completamente distinto dentro de la consola, los lentes reflejan una imagen que envuelve al jugador al instante, ver distintos lugares del mundo y sobre todo jugar videojuegos que sería su uso esencial, pues bueno, lo que les vengo enseñar hoy es 3 generaciones más avanzado que eso, o al menos eso me debieron jaja. 

El dispositivo en cuestión se llama *Meta Quest 2* unos lentes de realidad virtual donde podemos ver películas y series de tv, también se pueden conectar a una Pc y por supuesto que se pueden jugar algunos videojuegos, cuando lo probé yo dije: “No debe ser gran cosa”, y bueno tuve que buscar un tenedor para comerme mis palabras jaja, enserio parece que te sumerges en otra realidad, nunca pensé que probaría un dispositivo como este, estoy sorprendido y aún me arden los ojos jaja.

Meta Quest 2 salió hace dos años y se puede decir que es el 5to dispositivo que lanza esta compañía. ¿Es mío? Pues no, es de un primo cercano que me dio la oportunidad de probarlo y de hacerle una dedicatoria en esta publicación, resulta que él y otros familiares estaban buscando este dispositivo desde hace mucho tiempo, para jugar videojuegos en realidad virtual con una absorbencia fenomenal.

Los precios sobre este dispositivo en el mercado estaban por los cielos, hasta que llegó el tan ansiado viernes negro que todo el mundo aprovecha para hacer promociones en sus tiendas, vender todo a un precio mucho más barato de lo habitual, ese día fue clave para que comprarán el Meta Quest 2 por medio de Amazon, según me cuentan la unidad, es decir el visor virtual nada más, costó 300$ por sí sólo, normalmente costaría unos 500$ más o menos, ahora los accesorios serían otro gasto más.

Mi primo compró dos accesorios más para el visor, dos mandos uno para la mano derecha y otro para la mano izquierda, estos mandos se conectan por medio de bluetooth como si fuera un mando de consola convencional, a su vez también invirtió en un cargador portátil, para mantener la carga del dispositivo algo más duradera, según me dijo, la batería del Meta Quest puede durar dos horas, es bastante tiempo tomando en cuenta que nadie va a jugar a esto más de dos horas seguidas, al menos de que sea un adicto jaja.

Bromas aparte, con todos los accesorios bien invertidos, la consola como tal costó 500$ al mismo precio que saldría si lo compramos en un día normal jaja, una jugada muy buena que salió con un tremendo regalo de navidad, también me dijeron que existen otros accesorios para el visor virtual, por ejemplo, están por ahí unos mandos que se pueden colocar en las piernas, en caso que se quiera jugar algún deporte como el futbol o tocar un instrumento como la batería, pero por ahora estamos bien con sólo las manos jaja. 

Posteriormente, lo compró,  lo probó, lo configuró y aprendió a usarlo, incluso puede ver la imagen de lo que se ve en el visor por medio de una aplicación en su celular, justo el día de hoy me dijo que, si me gustaría probarlo y yo le dije que sí, tenía las expectativas bajas tengo que admitirlo, mi experiencia con esto empieza cuando me coloca los dos joysticks en las manos, me pareció un poco curioso la repartición de los botones en los dos controles, en el lado derecho tenemos el botón “A” y “B” junto a una palanca, el gatillo R y un botón sujetador que está en la parte inferior del mando, a su vez tenemos el botón de oculus que sería el equivalente del botón Ps de PlayStation 3.

Esos son los botones del mando derecho, en el lado izquierdo tenemos los botones “X” y “Y” junto a otra palanca, tenemos el gatillo L, el botón sujetador y el botón de Start de toda la vida que nos sirve para empezar una partida o poner pausa. La primera cosa que vi fue el lobby, Dios yo estaba flipando en colores cuando vi el sitio, las gafas estaban bien sujetas a mi cabeza y prácticamente yo no podía ver nada del exterior, parecía que enserio estaba en una casa lujosa, probé varios lobbys, uno de ellos era el mismo cielo y yo estaba parado encima de una nube, otro era una autopista en medio de una noche oscura y al lado pasaban autos.

Antes de eso tuvimos que hacer varias configuraciones, pero entre todas ellas hay una que se me hizo muy tediosa y es el guardián, el guardián es la zona donde puedes moverte libremente sin chocar contra una pared, mesa u otra cosa, el guardián marca una distancia como si fuera una burbuja, lo mejor de todo es que nosotros mismo podemos dibujar el ancho del mismo alrededor de nuestro cuerpo.

Una vez configurado el guardián a mi gusto, mi primo me dijo que pruebe una aplicación para adaptarme a los controles del Meta Quest 2, la aplicación es básicamente un tutorial de como usar los controles libremente, lo que me dejó impresionado fue la inteligencia de los mandos, los mandos identifican cuando muevo el dedo pulgar sin necesidad de presionar un botón, lo mismo pasa con el dedo índice.

Esta parte era más que todo para interactuar con los objetos, agarrándolos y lanzándolos, luego me mandan a una sala muy al estilo de Halo donde me ponen a practicar el tiro con pistolas laser, este modo me encantó, tanto así que lo repetí unas 10 veces, sentía que estaba jugando al GoldenEye 007 jaja, luego me obligaron a bailar con la mascota de la compañía, no bailo en la vida real, menos lo hago en realidad virtual, pero si tuve que sacar mis pasos prohibidos jaja.

Para finalizar, probé un juego más que se llama Pavlov shack un juego de disparos en primera persona, muy parecido a Counter Strike, me costó un poco jugarlo ya que requiere de una movilidad de todo el cuerpo para poder sobrevivir, cosa que no estoy muy acostumbrado, lo bueno es que la realidad virtual me hace sentirme como si fuera un terrorista de verdad jaja, los mandos hay que usarlos como si tuviéramos un arma de verdad, aunque lo que no me gustó fue la forma de recargar las balas, es algo tediosa jaja.

Bueno Amigos de Geek Zone, espero que les haya gustado la publicación de este día, espero que mi experiencia usando los visores de realidad virtual haya sido entretenida, luego de estar usando el visor como por 30 minutos mi cerebro se apagó por un momento y luego reinició sistemas, es una de las mejores experiencias que he tenido en mi vida, quiero jugar con él otra vez jaja, recomiendo que usen el visor con moderación, sobre todo para las personas que no están acostumbrado como yo.

Today's topic is a device that left me with my mouth open for more than two hours, and it also left me with my brain tired for several minutes, it is a device that a person should try at least once in his life since I was a kid I always wanted to have one, but over time I realized that it is too delicate in the wrong hands.

Meta Quest 2 came out two years ago and you can say it's the 5th device that this company has launched, is it mine? Well no, it belongs to a close cousin who allowed me to try it and dedicate it to him in this publication, it turns out that he and other relatives were looking for this device for a long time, to play video games in virtual reality with a phenomenal absorbency.

The prices of this device on the market were sky high until the long-awaited Black Friday arrived, when everyone takes advantage of it to make promotions in their stores, selling everything at a much cheaper price than usual, that day was key for them to buy the Meta Quest 2 through Amazon, as they tell me the unit, ie the virtual viewer cost $ 300 alone, normally it would cost about $ 500 or so, now the accessories would be another expense.

My cousin bought two more accessories for the viewer, two controllers one for the right hand and one for the left hand, these controllers are connected via Bluetooth as if they were conventional console controllers, in turn also invested in a portable charger, to keep the device charge something more durable, as he told me, the Meta Quest battery can last two hours, it is quite long considering that no one will play this more than two hours straight unless you are an addict haha.

Subsequently, he bought it, tried it, configured it, and learned to use it, he can even see the image of what you see in the viewfinder through an application on his cell phone, just today he told me that, if I would like to try it and I said yes, I had low expectations I have to admit, my experience with this starts when he put the two joysticks in my hands, I found a little curious the distribution of the buttons on the two controllers, on the right side we have the "A" and "B" button along with a lever, the R trigger and a hold button that is at the bottom of the controller, in turn, we have the oculus button which would be the equivalent of the Ps button on PlayStation 3.

Before that, we had to make several configurations, but among all of them there is one that made me very tedious and it is the guardian, the guardian is the area where you can move freely without hitting a wall, table, or anything else, the guardian marks a distance as if it were a bubble, the best of all is that we can draw the width of it around our body.

Once the guardian was configured to my liking, my cousin told me to try an application to adapt to the controls of Meta Quest 2, the application is a tutorial on how to use the controls freely, what left me impressed was the intelligence of the controls, the controls identify when I move my thumb without pressing a button, the same happens with the index finger.

This part was mostly to interact with objects, grabbing and throwing them, then they send me to a room very Halo style where they put me to practice shooting with laser guns, I loved this mode, so much so that I repeated it about 10 times, I felt like I was playing GoldenEye 007 haha, then I was forced to dance with the company mascot, I do not dance in real life, less I do in virtual reality, but I had to take out my forbidden steps haha.
