Good day Hive Book club and wonderful work by @ocd for their outstanding work in promoting Hive communities and bringing awareness to the broader Hive block chain on what is available. 

I wasn't too sure what to answer this challenge with as I don't particularly read many story books but rather read life stories and political books. 

But to create a book to a movie is a whole different question as it takes a really good story to be made into a movie, so I've sat for a few days thinking about the books I have read over the years. None makes more sense then a recent book I've just finished reading.

For international women's day my wide and I attended a Zonta event whom had the special guest speaker Susan Alberti whom has an extremely inspirational life story. She's turned her rubbles to riches story into a book. 

It starts talking about her short comings growing up in government housing and as a young child Susan would often deposit her bus money into a charity tin for less fortunate and walk to school. While playing football with her brother and dad she talks to her being pushed aside from the sport as her brother took centre stage. In those days and still currently women were not perceived to be able to play football nor were they allowed. 

Susan dreamed of football but put it aside when she met her husband an Italian migrant who she began forging a life with. The started a company in construction. Her husband had an injury at work and she had to take a lead role while he recovered, being one of the first women in construction. 

While also raising a daughter, she excelled with her husband by her side only for a few years later. The love of her life was leaving work and as he crossed the road he was struck by a truck and killed.

Susan was left distraught and a mess with multimillion dollar contracts underway she was posed with two options. Sell the business or continue at its helm. Women had never been at the helm of major Australian construction companies and many didn't believe she could do it and she was offered money for her business. 

She decided to retain the business but without the required certification to continue she needed to go to uni and complete the courses which she did and came out top of her class. She was the only woman in a class of men but succeeded. 

She was finally through her challenge when her daughter was diagnosed with diabetes, back then there was no research or cure. She didn't know and took her daughter to the doctors only to be told there was nothing that could be done. 

She invested millions in diabetes research and founded Australia's first research institution in the hopes of finding a cure for her daughter. Sadly her daughter passed in her arms on a plane returning to Australia from the United States. 

There are many stories that fill Susan's book and they have really drawn on my heart strings.

Susan is also best known for her work in football, where she has returned to her childhood passion and has funded and invested in the development and promotion of women's football in Australia. In fact much of women's football can be attributed to Susan's work as she has raised it from a dream to a major event in recent years. 

I haven't read a book so inspirational as Susan's story for a very long time. But it is one I thoughly enjoyed and if I had to select a book I would like to see become a movie, it is Susan Alberti, the Footy Lady.
