You’ve got people yelling “Gays for Palestine” and “Women’s rights for Gaza”— fighting for causes in places that would never allow them to exist freely. They don’t realize the privilege of protesting without vanishing— so they take their ignorance international. In mid-June, a group of U.S. activists flew to Egypt to “march into Gaza.” Because apparently, they thought the Middle East runs on feelings and hashtags. Egypt responded with: “Cute idea. Now give us your passports.” 🚨 Detained. Deported. Absolutely stunned. Some even cried: “But we can do this in America!” Yeah… and that’s the part you don’t get. This isn’t America.
