My older brother recently had a bit of a lucky break. Being the musician that he is (we all are after all) he is always trying to checkout live shows when possible, but this time it ended up being a bit different.

My brother became friends with one of his musical heroes, and they've stayed in touch for some months now. I won't divulge names, since I find it not too important to the story, but suffice to say my brother has been smiling ear to ear since.

As his level of confidence has grown, they've had the chance to talk about a lot of things, and somewhere in there, the fact that we build guitars was mentioned.

My older brother, being who he is, volunteered me to design and build something unique to gift to his new friend.
 
Is this a good idea? Maybe, who knows. I don't really think it's going to result in me selling my inventory all the time, but the challenge is something exciting.

I've been thinking a lot about what to make, and instead of going with the gut, improvising as I do most of the time. I've taken the time to sit on the computer and draw ideas, even taught myself some modeling for the sake of not having those fun ooops! that I usually encounter.

## I got this far...

If you are familiar enough with headless models, you might have intuited that this an unofficial member of such family. Hence the carving behind the bridge area, and you would be correct.

I'm sure that once I start making sawdust, I'll have one of those "what if I do this" moments, and the plan will stray a bit, but I suspect the best way to not ruin expensive lumber is the one I'm currently embarked in.

# Multiscale, you say? 

This is also one of those changes that modern guitars seem to be sporting, and even though I find it odd to look at, having built one in the past, I do GET IT so to speak.

That being said, doing multiscale, the math, that is, can be quite tricky. It's very easy to make an instrument that won't tune that well, and such tragedy needs to be avoided.

Lucky for me I've found an amazing little tool that has made my life at lot easier. It does all the mafff for yas.

If you are not a builder, this might not make too much sense, but trust me, this tool will save my many neurons.

I'm still learning all that it can do, but downloading an SVG with all the measurements is something of beauty... of beauty I say.


I'm going to keep on fighting Vectric's Aspire for a few more hours before calling it a night, but I'm happy so far...
