<div class="text-justify"> Before the month of December arrives, many of us are already thinking about the economic factor due to the daily shortage of the products we consume and not to mention the ingredients for Christmas meals (Venezuela case). This leaving aside the part of the premieres as we call it around here.<p></div></p>

<div class="text-justify"> However, we are cautious and the things we can freeze we buy step by step.<p></div></p>

<div class="text-justify"> When my children were small, what stressed us a little was the Baby Jesus gifts, as we call them. Because of the cost, it was what was in fashion that they wanted, and sometimes we ended up buying what they didn't ask for. I remember them saying this is not it, Santa must be stressed with so many orders. That made us laugh.<p></div></p>

<div class="text-justify"> After that I didn't stress them out, I made them understand that a gift is a gift and even if they don't like it, they should receive it with pleasure because it is a gesture of love. They could not miss the premieres, which also produced some anxiety because of the costs. But they came first. I also learned to manage that situation and part of the Christmas bonuses in the first batch that the amount assigned was something like 75% of what corresponded to the benefit, we made those purchases. It reduced the anxiety.<p></div></p>

<div class="text-justify"> Now, with so many family changes, there are no more trips to visit or to meet somewhere else...the stress is because we are alone, I have also been managing it, I think that where my children are, they are fine and they make sure that their absence does not affect us (neither them nor us) we do everything with less pressure, we take walks outdoors, we make our hallacas, we enjoy it, we listen to music. We pray for everyone, we keep the faith that everything is for the better and we accept the reality that we live without affecting our routine activities. We accept the feeling of absence.<p></div></p>

<div class="text-justify"> Antes de llegar el mes de Diciembre ya muchos estamos pensando en el factor económico por la carestía a diario de los productos que consumimos y ni hablar de los ingredientes para las comidas navideñas (caso Venezuela). Esto dejando por un lado la parte de los estrenos como le llamamos por aquí.<p></div></p>

<div class="text-justify"> Sin embargo, somos precavidos y las cosas que podemos congelar las vamos comprando paso a paso.<p></div></p>

<div class="text-justify"> Cuando mis hijos estaban pequeños los que nos estresaba un poco era los regalos del Niño Jesús como le damos el nombre. Por el costo, que era lo que estaba de moda que querían, y a veces terminábamos comprando  lo que no pidieron. Recuerdo que decían esto no es, Santa debe estar estresado con tantos pedidos. Eso nos causaba risa.<p></div></p>

<div class="text-justify"> Después eso no me estresaba les hice entender que regalo es regalo y así no sean de su agrado deben recibirlo con gusto porque es un gesto de amor que se hace. A ellos si no les podía faltar los estrenos que también producía algo de ansiedad por los costos. Pero ellos primero. También aprendí a manejar esa situación y parte de los aguinaldos en la primera tanda que   el monto asignado era algo así como el 75% de lo que correspondía por beneficio,  hacíamos esas compras. Bajaba la ansiedad.<p></div></p>

<div class="text-justify"> Ahora, con  tantos cambios familiares, ya no hay viajes a visitar o reunirse en otro lado...el estrés es porque estamos solos, también lo he ido manejando pienso que donde están mis hijos están bien y ellos hacen que su ausencia no nos afecte (ni a ellos ni a nosotros) ya hacemos todo con menos presión, hacemos caminatas al aire libre, realizamos nuestras hallacas lo disfrutamos, escuchamos música. Oramos por todos, mantenemos la Fe que todo es para mejor y es aceptar la realidad que vivimos sin afectar nuestras actividades rutinarias. Ese sentimiento de ausencia lo aceptamos.<p></div></p>

Amiga @mercmarg que agradable leer tu post. Mucho de lo que compartes aquí lo viví con mis hijos pequeños y ahora ya están grandes y dos están fuera del país. También me siento un poco triste por eso. Estoy haciendo mis actividades recreativas y deportivas. Hello @mercmarg. I love your attitude in how you address and accept the loneliness with the children all grown and living elsewhere. It's fact of life that this may happen. They don't always remain close. My children live in another city. But they are close enough to come visit occasionally.  Your children thinking Santa must be stressed if they received the wrong gift made me smile. It's priceless!

I also love how you tackle the food ingredients, purchasing and freezing applicable items ahead of time. I do that as well.

The ingredients thing has been a way of not losing those moments of preparing the dishes for these dates, I learned that when our country began to give us lessons that we had to learn in one way or another.
With the emigration my children also left, it is not easy for them to come when they want to...that is why I talk about overcoming that absence.
