Anyone following my blogs would know this isn't my blog strength as I am more of practical and real life stories but I try to share what I learn new or trying to know more about, business is an area of financing that I want to go into well enough someday and so, I've been learning whatever and anything about it.

Of course, I've been into business in one way or the other before but not with prior good enough knowledge so a few of them ended badly and I learned better. But for my future plans regarding business, I'm dedicating myself to knowing more and one of the things I'd love to share is about **business mistakes to avoid**.

For anyone who is about to start a business of any kind or is already into one, there are mistakes that are bound to happen so prior knowledge of these mistakes and the downfall they could cause to businesses is important for us to know and be more careful.

**Disregarding your customer:** We go into business to not only make profits but connect with people *(customers)* from different backgrounds. A business mind would learn to handle their customers with as much care as they would with their sources of income because they have great impact in how well a business would grow. Disregarding your customers is calling for low demands on your product or services.

**Ignoring the competition:** Many are into the world of business but only a few survive long term because they make sure to meet up the standard of their present. There is competition in anything that earns money so the need to up your game and be the best you can in what you do. Ignoring the competition that is obvious in business calls for stagnant growth with no innovation.

**Ignoring marketing:** If you think you have enough customers or demands in your business whether services or products, you are wrong. Someone once said, marketing your business should be a regular thing and for as long as you have the business running. Good customer care, publicity and meeting demands are also ways to not ignore marketing.

**Pursuing too many business opportunities:** While we hope for better opportunities in our business, pursuing too many of them could cause problems. Inconsistency, dishonesty, lose of focus, less income, too much expenses and a lot of other things could be the order of the day when a business person keeps accepting every opportunity made available. Not having your eggs in one basket is great but do not spread them out too much and lose focus.

**Hiring too soon:** I was at a business summit some weeks back and one thing I can remember very clearly from a speaker was *"Do not be quick to start paying someone for a business you just started"*. This is where you need people who will trust or support your plan and want to help out without expecting a pay so the business could have a good headstart with less expenses.

**Doing it all yourself:** This one is like the opposite of *"hiring too soon"* and it is also a mistake that could cause a downfall to a business. There is power in multitasking but there is also the weakness to consider. Having too much to do will limit your strength, divide your focus on the main goal and could also make you lose profits. Get help when you don't have money to pay, hire help if there is money to pay.
