Amazon is taking over another industry and the incumbents are trembling.  Why wouldn't they? Amazon literally dominates every industry that it pours its resources into in the last 3 decades or so.

According to protectamerica.com, the home security industry will exceed $100 billion by 2020. It's no wonder why Jeff Bezos is interested in this industry. 

The move makes perfect sense since it's in line with Amazon's core strength. What also amazing is that this move clearly supports the vision that by 2020, internet of things will be a reality. Think of all your appliances being connected to the internet and controlled through your phone. Imagine you are in Hawaii for a holiday and from there you can turn on the heater or air conditioner, the lights etc.

Surely, Amazon saw what the future looks like with IOT and it's taking the rights steps to position itself to become a key player if not the only player in the field.
