Real-Time Lightning Map - Know Where The Thunder Comes From
Today started with quite warm and sunny weather. At the moment, however, the weather in my area is quite crazy. Heavy rain and thunderstorms have been passing by for the last hour. Real summer storm weather! 

While strolling down google street looking for some weather information, I stumbled upon a cool website for the occasion: [lightningmaps.org](www.lightningmaps.org).

This website shows you where lightning is striking around the world in real-time. It's quite entertaining to check it out when there are thunderstorms in your area. Below you see a screenshot of the page:

When lightning strikes, the map shows the location and an expanding circle around it. The circle represents the thunder sound traveling through space. Using the circles you can see when the sounds pass your location.

I've checked the map for several minutes. The data is quite accurate! I thought this might be fun to check out sometimes.
