The importance of teachers in people's lives is undeniable; they are the only profession responsible for shaping all the other professions that exist! It's more than clear that if a teacher is good at what they do, they change the lives of many people, impacting and restoring the way they see the world and even the path of their students. But is the responsibility really all on their shoulders? If a student's performance is bad or good, is it always the teacher's fault?

I believe that there are a number of factors that contribute to a student's success. Of course, the teacher who teaches them is one of these factors, but we can't take away the responsibility of those who must educate from birth: the parents. To a certain extent, it is the parents who must direct their children's education, but this responsibility is limited to a certain age, after which it is the children themselves who must seek their own development.

Teachers play a fundamental role, but we can't limit a student's results to the competence of the teacher. After all, in the same class there will be good students, bad ones and average ones, which leads us to understand that each result can be the result of personal commitment, added to other external factors. There are students who have difficulties in certain subjects or an inclination to be better at other activities. The dynamics of determining who is to blame for poor performance would need to be analyzed individually, as it is difficult to reach a conclusion across the board.

Of course, as in any other profession, there are good professionals and others who are not so good. But even in situations where teachers are not good professionals, the blame cannot fall entirely on this factor. The fact is, when a student wants to perform well, they will seek out new ways of learning “on their own two feet”. I'm sure you may have come across a teacher who didn't give you the support you needed and you had to seek other help. And this is where the role of parents also becomes fundamental, because together with their children, they can seek solutions to this educational deficiency.

My son is struggling at school in a certain subject. I'm not sure about the competence of the teacher who is teaching him, but I do know that my son is afraid to go to class on the days he has that subject. I heard from one of his friends that this teacher said bad things to him in class. I know my son, I know his calm personality, and it's very likely that he didn't do anything too bad, but this occasion made him afraid to go to class, and this teacher's attitude left a mark that he will carry with him for the rest of his life. I could be telling you something positive, but unfortunately some teachers are unprepared, make mistakes and exaggerate.

There are also positive stories. I'll never forget teachers who gave a real show of knowledge in the classroom, who marked me and changed my outlook on many things. So, I believe that yes, teachers do have a good deal of influence over their students' performance, but it's not all their fault (and their merit). Each person and family is responsible for their child's education, together with the teachers, the school management and the education system. But at the end of the day, any poor performance will always be the student's responsibility. Even if external or internal factors may have gotten in the way at some point, there are other ways to compensate for these events, and all it takes is a little more effort to ensure better performance.

É inegável a importância do professor na vida das pessoas, essa é a única profissão responsável por formar todas as outras profissões existentes! Está mais do que claro que, se um professor é bom no que faz, ele muda a vida de muitas pessoas, impacta e restaura a forma de ver o mundo e até mesmo o caminho de seus alunos. Mas será que a responsabilidade está realmente toda em suas costas? Se o desempenho de um aluno é ruim ou bom, o mérito ou a culpa é sempre do professor?

Acredito que existe uma série de fatores que colaboram para o sucesso de um aluno. Claro, o professor que o ensina é um desses fatores, mas não podemos tirar a responsabilidade de quem deve educar desde o nascimento: os pais. Até certo ponto, são os pais que devem direcionar os filhos na educação, mas essa responsabilidade se limita a certa idade, depois disso, são os próprios filhos que devem buscar sua evolução.

Os professores têm um papel fundamental, mas não podemos limitar os resultados de um aluno à competência do professor. Afinal, na mesma classe haverá alunos bons, outros ruins e outros na média, o que nos leva a entender que cada resultado pode ser fruto do empenho pessoal, somado a outros fatores externos. Existem alunos que têm dificuldades em certas matérias ou uma inclinação para serem melhores em outras atividades. A dinâmica para determinar de quem é a culpa por um mau desempenho precisaria ser analisada individualmente, pois de forma generalizada, é difícil chegar a uma conclusão.

Claro que, como em qualquer outra profissão, existem bons profissionais e outros nem tanto. Mas mesmo em situações em que os professores não são bons profissionais, a culpa não pode recair totalmente nesse fator. Acontece que, quando um aluno almeja ter um bom desempenho, ele buscará novos caminhos de aprendizado "pelas suas próprias pernas". Tenho certeza de que talvez você já tenha se deparado com um professor que não dava o suporte necessário e teve de buscar outro tipo de ajuda. E é aí que o papel dos pais também se torna fundamental, pois, em conjunto com os filhos, podem buscar soluções para essa deficiência educacional.

Meu filho está com dificuldades na escola em uma certa matéria. Não tenho certeza sobre a competência da professora que está dando aula para ele, mas sei que meu filho tem medo de ir para a aula nos dias em que tem essa matéria. Através de um de seus amigos, fiquei sabendo que essa professora falou coisas ruins para ele dentro da sala de aula. Conheço meu filho, sei de sua personalidade calma, e é muito provável que ele não tenha feito nada demais, porém, essa ocasião gerou nele um medo de ir para a aula, e a atitude dessa professora deixou algo marcado que ele carregará para o resto da vida. Eu poderia estar contando algo positivo, mas, infelizmente, alguns professores são despreparados, cometem erros e exageros.

Também existem histórias positivas. Nunca vou me esquecer de professores que deram um verdadeiro show de conhecimento dentro da sala de aula, que me marcaram e mudaram minha visão sobre muitas coisas. Então, acredito que sim, os professores têm uma boa parcela de influência sobre o desempenho de seus alunos, mas a culpa (e o mérito) não são todos deles. Cada pessoa e família é responsável pela educação de seus filhos, em conjunto com os professores, a direção da escola e o sistema educacional. Mas, no fim das contas, qualquer desempenho ruim sempre será responsabilidade do aluno. Mesmo que fatores externos ou internos possam ter atrapalhado em algum momento, existem outras formas de compensar esses acontecimentos, bastando um pouco mais de esforço para garantir um desempenho melhor.
