***Most times in life, we find ourselves in very akward situations, that we could hardly think of any way out. One of the reasons is because of our past choices. You wonder. Choices are set of decisions taken towards a particular cause.***
In life, we can actively make a choice and or passively make a choice. Whichever one we do, has consequences (positive or negative). Despite that God has given us the power to prevail over every difficult situation that we might find ourselves, it is still our choice to either remain in our problems or deliberately be free from them.
However, when you are passive about making a choice, you are simply leaving people to make decisions for you and you have automatically given them the power to have rule over you.
A lot of people have received ideas, concepts and perceptions from God and they just passively took note of these great stuffs. They didn’t even write them down, thinking they would always remember when they need to. You have totally forgotten the Bible even says
>"Write the vision and engrave it plainly upon the tablets, so that he who one who reads it, will run".
And so, when you see someone else working on those ideas you got in the past, you say, ***"oh, that guy stole my concept".***
Hey Bro, Farabalè! (Just calm down)No guy stole your concept.
The same way the idea was revealed to you, that you felt too big to write it down let alone act on it, was the same way it was revealed to the other guy. But he was wise and humble enough to pick up his pen, he wrote it down and acted on it. See, ideas, concepts and perceptions fly around and they will go to the person that will make use of them to succeed and achieve his/her purpose.
Many people are where they are today because they have chosen to do nothing about their gifts, talents and callings, yet they keep complaining about the government as if it was the government that gave birth to them and put them in their problems.
Let me tell you, as bad as ***"you think"*** Nigeria is, a lot of people are making progress legitimately and succeeding on a daily basis. They don’t have two heads, they didn’t break the vault, they simply harnessed the opportunities around them through the use of their gifts and talents.
Mr. Diehard-Football-Fan, you are always at the newspaper stand, every morning, arguing about football players who earn several thousands of Euro in a week, yet you're always begging the newspaper vendor to let you read for free.
Weldone Sir! Do you still think Nigeria is the cause of your problem? For your information, these footballers don’t even know you exist or you're fighting for them. Whether they win or not, they get paid.
Am I saying don’t watch football? No! All I'm saying is, divert all that energy into your own vocation, when you succeed, people will also be eager to watch you and then, you will have enough money to subscribe and watch these guys live on your HD Television. You can even travel abroad to watch them live at the stadium. These footballers are making use of their talents, what are you doing with yours?
### Factors That Affects People ###
**1. The Environment:**
What we see and hear on a daily basis is negative. The environment gives us reasons why things will never work, why we have to do things in the worldly way and why we can't live in God's purpose.

**2. Looking at things from the Human point of View:**
Remember when Prophet Elisha prophesied in 2 Kings 7 verse 1-2? That royal officer looked calculated the prophecy with his head and Elisha told him he was not going to partake in the manifestation of the prophecy. This is what a lot of us do. God has promised us something, but we just can't stop calculating with our heads. This makes us to limit what God can do through us and with us.
**3. Aligning with People's Opinions and Experiences:**
Moses believed in those 10 spies and he decided not to lead God's people into Canaan. This decision made them to suffer in the wilderness for another 40 years. He forgot that God had already delivered the land to them and he was swayed away by the negative opinions of those spies. People will tell you stuffs. They will tell you why you should not venture into business. They will tell you that idea isn’t meant for Nigeria. This might actually be because of their personal (past) failures and bad experiences. Nevertheless, I say this to people, the fact that someone failed doing something does not mean you too will fail doing the same thing. You only need to know why and how others failed so you too will not.
**4. Living a life of "Que Sera Sera" (Whatever will be, will be):**
This kind of life makes you to take anything the world throws to us. It is called a nonchalant life. It makes you to accept just anything. It makes you to act and look like a mediocre. We cannot possibly expect God's promises to come to pass in our lives without consciously doing anything about our lives. In fact, your faith, your mind and everything about you must align with what you expect to become in life.
## What To Do. ##
**1. Take Time To Read, Listen And Meditate (Bible And Great Inspiring Books):**
You have to consciously chose what you read and meditate upon. These things form what choices you make in life. Personally, I haven’t seen or read about a very successful man or woman who doesn’t read. So if you say, it is not your culture to read, then you haven’t really decided if you want to succeed or not.

**2. Change Your Mindset:**
Changing your mindset will help you to;
• push beyond limitations,
• build your faith,
• persevere and
• be confident.
Your natural mind cannot simply understand and execute God's vision for your life. Your mind needs to partner with God to be able to understand and carry out that vision, because God's vision is always bigger than the carrier. Your mind is your Goldmine. So, you need to consciously chose to develop your mind and have a mind-shift about life. If you can't see it happen in your mind, then you can’t see it happen in real life. Nothing is impossible, Yes, nothing! Only if you truly believe!
**3. Work On Yourself:**
If you really want to be the best in what you do, then you need create some time to work on you. The problem is, we don’t want to stretch our minds and our energy. We don’t want to take more responsibilities. We don’t want to leave our comfort zones. But, it's quite difficult to succeed in the comfort zone. You need to challenge yourself. Take on new responsibilities. Learn more from the masters. Use your internet data to download videos, books and messages that relate to that hurdle you're trying to cross. Yesterday's knowledge cannot be enough for today's task, so you have to keep learning daily.
**4. Be Calm And Wise Enough To Recognize An Opportunity:**
Some opportunities in life are like flash messages. Once you tap your phone, it flies away and you can't see it again, except the sender resends it as SMS. Therefore, you must be wise enough to recognize an opportunity when you see one. The reason why we are afraid to take opportunities sometimes might be because;
• we know we aren’t prepared enough;
• we are prepared enough but we don’t believe in ourselves (low self-esteem);
• we procrastinate.
***While you're building yourself, you have to be calm and patient but always be on the lookout for opportunities to express your gifts. Remember, you will most likely be tested on smaller platforms before the bigger platforms will come and your choices today will determine your future tomorrow!***
