Another weird blobby thing for the collection, sort of the same and sort of different that its predecessors. If I figure out a new effect I'll usually take a lot of time to figure out all the different ways I can tweak it so that I know as much as possible about what I can do with it. These random experiments creep into my professional work eventually usually.

This time around I wanted to try something that really looked like some sort of fluid. I liked the glowy effect that I did [previously](https://steempeak.com/creativecoin/@midlet/interdimensional-traveler) so I worked that in as well.

So this is all done with particles. The way it's set up I create a script that takes the particle ID (each particle has an ID number assigned at birth in numerical order, so the first particle's ID is 0 and the second is 1 etc.) and divides it by the total number of particles. So on each frame each particle will have a value between 0 and 1 associated with it. I then convert that information into black and white color data.

So then in the material(the thing that dictates how this reacts to light) I take that black and white color range and remap it with a color gradient, so for example it's like saying "grey is in the middle, put blue green there instead."

Also this time the material is a "glass" material, so we have the extra element of refraction of light throughout the whole thing which looks pretty cool.

The way I animated the particles, I tried something new here as well. There's actually 3 different emitters. The first emitter only emits around 3 particles, but those particles emit particles as well, around 5 per second, then those particles also emit particles but only if they are within a certain proximity of another particle within that particle group. All of that is just to create a feeling of organic movement that I think worked out.

So that's that. 

In other news, I'm really excited about the news out of Steemit Inc. They've stopped the programmatic selling of Steem for now. They may have to start again in October, but the reason I see this as extremely bullish is because the only thing I feel like Steem needs is TIME. As long as we are in a sustainable place, even if it's slow, we will continue to move forward. I think this is the strength of open source projects. They'll start off slower than something totally centralized, but they're unstoppable once they gain a bit of momentum.

Since we're not totally there yet in terms of being decentralized to the point of being viable without Steemit Inc. A healthy Steemit Inc., even in this BRUTAL bear market is a great sign.
