Ghost Ship

Got a free second to make something new this morning, and got to try out some stuff I've been wanting to for a while now. I've had this wrecked 3D ship that I modeled a while back for a while now but I hadn't done anything with it yet. Was a bit of an accident that it ended up in this piece as I started out just exploring some landscapes.

At first I was just doing this for practice and it wasn't something I was going to make a piece from but as I continued to screw with it it just kept progressing. I eventually decided to add this old crashed ship.

So the main thing I wanted to practice here was photobashing. I typically either do 100% painting, 100% 3D, or a mix of 3D and painting, but the missing piece in terms of using all the popular techniques for concept art is photobashing. So I wanted to try to integrate some photos to add the small scale debris and details and get rid of some of the obviously CG edges and geometry.

Then lastly, I added some final color correction and effects, also a few touch ups.

Think I'm one of a small handful that doesn't really notice/pay attention to all this up down crypto price stuff XD Even my youngest will occasionally look at the charts and tell me when things are up or down (not that he's been on much lately either) so continuing to steem on is easy enough ;D

Photobashing is something I haven't really done a lot of either, have played around with it a couple of times mostly for backgrounds (because that's really not one of my strong points XD) Nice work with the atmosphericals, gotta love the accidental awesomeness that happens when mucking around :D
