If there is going to be rate increases and other tightening measures through mid 2023,, I dont see how a bullrun could start. The entire point of what they are doing is to cool off the economy and prevent such price increases.

This FOMC meeting also includes the next set of economic predictions that will carry us through the December meeting. So far the fed has been wrong with every prediction summary and in reality the the rate increases have ended up being higher.

So unless we get 100 bps, I think the prediction summary itself will be the bigger story at this meeting than the rate. We will likely be experiencing this way of life through at least mid to late 2023 unless something drasic changes

The last prediction summary we had was June. The fed was predicting 3.4 federal funds rate for 2022, increasing to 3.8 in 2023, then 3.4 is 2024. 

So if their outlook remains the same, tightening will increase through 2023, and then we will be back to the conditions we have today by 2024. This is if we achieve the soft landing they are shooting for and they dont over tighten and send us into a recession/depression. 

If this weeks prediction improves this outlook, we may see a relief rally, but we are still looking at a year or two of this. If it comes back increasing this outlook, well, it will just be another Wednesday in redsville.
