## Another day, another **[Five minute writing challenge](https://steemit.com/freewrite/@mariannewest/day-119-5-minute-freewrite-thursday-prompt-fried-chicken)**
Put together by @mariannewest. Today's focus was **Fried Chicken**. I'll be honest, wasn't a huge fan, but, that's a part of the challenge. 

Written on **[The Most Dangerous Writing App](http://www.themostdangerouswritingapp.com)** I only went back to fix a couple spelling errors and finish the final sentence. I'm getting better at watching the timer on the site so I can tie it off at the right moment. Timing...and all that.

***Without further ado...***

## The end of the world had come and gone.
He mused quietly from where he hid behind some brush. Zombies, killer plague, AI intent on 'rescuing' the planet, even aliens. A waterfall of shit had washed across the planet, but, still he survived.

He scratched the back of his neck. A thick tangled beard, a crazy mop of black hair, almost hid his blazing blue eys. Any semblence of society cleansed from him long ago. He couldn't even remember the last time he had showered.

### Across from where he hid
Slowly making it's way into the street, a hulking form seemed to ooze from the shadows. 

*Ugh, not again, he thought to himself. Those things are the absolute worst.*

### Made up of childrens nightmares the things form remained nameless.
It contained the fears of an entire species and had fed upon the hope of countless. Three of them, maybe four. But, the fourth one didn't count. He had had help for that one.

**But that person was gone now, long gone.** The name another shadow that had crossed his path. There were so few left now anyways. Just crumbs. He laughed again. Well, might as well make what he had left count.

*'But, damn, some fried chicken would be really good right now' as he stepped out to meet the beast.*

## I decided to continue on the darker themes
Since I didn't feel like giving a vaguely pornographic description of someone eating the crap out of the crispy delight I went with end-of-the-world. It makes sense, right?
