Without bragging - I can say with a straight face that New York City is one of the most iconic cities in the world! In terms of the history, landmarks, culture, museums, world class Broadway shows, the financial district, influence on music, clothing….and the list goes on! Oh and it’s also home to the most winning franchise in any sport - the Yankees!

Living in NYC we take things for granted. Ask native New Yorkers if they’ve been to the Statue of Liberty and I’m sure many will say never. Ask them to tell you about Times Square and we’ll tell you we avoid it like the plague. 

With all that being said - ask me where is the best view of Manhattan is and I’ll tell you the Top of Rockefeller Center! There is something magical about being that high up and seeing the city as a bird does. Sure there are other places one can go to see the city - but none from outdoors. 

If you’re planning on taking my advice, I suggest going about an hour before sunset. That way you can see the city in the day and in the night. If you love shooting sunsets like I do, unfortunately you’re not going to be able to do so because the view is obstructed. Also keep in mind that the use of tripods are not allowed (so bring a tiny one with you). If you’re running late, you can skip the video as it’s a way of crowd controlling. 

I used to go so much that one year I purchased a season pass. The image you see is my favorite picture that I’ve taken from the outdoor observation deck from the Top of Rockefeller Center - the greatest city in the world!
