Hello, my name´s Mildred as it says part of my username (@mildred271), I´m a Venezuelan living in my beloved Venezuela, and I come because of the dynamic given by OCD and this same community where we must make a post answering the following question: What is the cost of living like in your country or region? I feel that many Venezuelans will participate in it and therefore I do not want to focus much on how much we earn, officially the minimum wage in Venezuela is $ 1 per month, I really did not strive to make the exact count because it would be impossible by the constant inflation that is suffering the Venezuelan economy.
>Hola, mi nombre es Mildred como lo dice parte de mi username (@mildred271), soy una Venezolana viendo en mi amada Venezuela, y vengo por la dinámica dada por OCD y esta misma comunidad donde debemos realizar un post respondiendo la siguiente pregunta: What is the cost of living like in your country or region?, siento que muchos Venezolanos participaremos en ella y por ello no quiero enfocarme mucho en cuanto ganamos, oficialmente el sueldo mínimo en Venezuela es de 1$ por mes, de verdad no me esforcé en realizar la cuenta exacta porque sería imposible por la constante inflación que está padeciendo la economía Venezolana.
As I noticed that one of the purposes of this dynamic is to generate knowledge, I want to talk a little about the context in Venezuela through recorded and experiential knowledge of course, Venezuela is a country where the predominant religion is Catholicism, Caribbean with access to the Caribbean Sea as tropical because part of the plant lung is in our lands.
>Como note que una de las finalidades de esta dinámica es generar conocimiento quiero habar un poco el contexto en Venezuela por medio de conocimiento registrado y vivencial por supuesto, Venezuela es un país donde la religión predominante es el catolicismo, caribeño con salida al mar caribe como tropical ya que parte del pulmón vegetal está en nuestras tierras.
The food of each country is linked to the culture, we are a country with more than 200 years of independence and with a great miscegenation since the colony with the arrival of Spanish and also Africans slaves who changed the food of the native peoples, on the other hand the oil boom that we live for the 40s and 70s brought many Italians and Portuguese came to stay at the time and this brought that our food was enriched, for example the bread took the table of Venezuelans being wheat a non-existent crop in our lands.
>La alimentación de cada país esta ligada a la cultura, somos un país con más de 200 años de independencia y con un gran mestizaje desde la colonia con la llegada de españoles y esclavos africanos que cambiaron la alimentación de los pueblos originarios, por otra parte el boom petrolero que vivimos para los años 40 y 70 trajo consigo que muchos Italianos y portugueses llegaron para quedarse en la época y esto trajo consigo que nuestra alimentación se enriqueciera, como por ejemplo que el pan tomase la mesa de los venezolanos siendo el trigo un cultivo inexistente en nuestras tierras.
Now, what are the foods that are traditionally consumed in the Venezuelan diet? For example: meat, specifically beef par excellence, poultry such as chicken and as for the delicacies of the sea, there are plenty to choose from as it is a country with a sea view, rich in rivers and lakes.
Grains are consumed as any country such as: black or red beans, beans, lentils among the most consumed, the cereals consumed are rice, wheat and mainly corn.
Among the vegetables, vegetables, tubers of high consumption are: potato, tomato, carrot, beet, lettuce, cucumber, cassava, onion, paprika, peppers, cabbage, ocumo, sweet potatoes, bananas and of course a variety of fruits as well.
>Ahora bien, ¿Cuáles son los alimentos que por excelencia se consumen tradicionalmente en la dieta venezolana? por ejemplo: carne específicamente la bobina por excelencia, aves como el pollo y en cuanto a las delicias del mar hay para escoger por ser un país con visa al mar, rico en ríos y lagos.
Se consumen granos como cualquier país tales como: caraotas negras o rojas, frijoles, lenteja entre las mas consumidas, los cereales consumidos son el arroz, trigo y principalmente el maíz.
Entre los vegetales, hortalizas, tubérculos de alto consumo están: papa, tomate, zanahoria, remolacha, lechuga, pepino, yuca, cebolla, pimentón, ajíes, repollos, ocumo, batatas, plátanos y por supuesto una gran variedad de frutas también.
Finally, I chose three typical Venezuelan dishes to calculate the possible monthly expense. I want to emphasize that I did not choose elitist or expensive dishes but the typical and most consumed by the average.

The costs mentioned above are only one dish per person and depending on the number of family members should be multiplied. In that point you may wonder how it is possible to make ends meet when the minimum wage per month does not reach more than $ 1, well not everyone earns that and unfortunately doctors, teachers, police summarizing state workers are the ones who earn that amount although between bonuses and social benefits are between $ 5 to $ 25 per month that still not enough. Many make ends meet because they have relatives abroad to whom they send remittances, others like me are in this type of platforms. Also some who for example are doctors or teachers in the mornings practice their profession and in the afternoon exploit some other skill to generate extra income to be able to eat.
>Los costos mencionados arriba son solo un plato por persona y dependiendo del número de integrantes familiares se deben multiplicar. En ese puno se podrán preguntar como es posible llegar a fin de mes cuando el sueldo mínimo por mes no llega a mas de 1$, bien no todos cobran eso y lastimosamente los médicos, maestros, policías resumiendo trabajadores del estado son los que cobran esa cantidad aunque entre bonos y ayudas sociales quedan entre 5 a 25 dólares por mes que igual no alcanza. Muchos llegan al fin de mes porque tienen familiares en el exterior a los cuales le envían remesas, otros como yo están en este tipo de plataformas. También unos que por ejemplo son médicos o maestros en las mañanas ejercen su profesión y en la tarde explotan alguna otra habilidad es decir hacen vida en dos trabajos en donde uno
es un trabajo informal que es el verdaderamente les da de comer mientras que el principal es de vocación.
Another thing is that I must point out that a large number of Venezuelans can not eat the menu that I detail above, currently the consumption of quality protein has decreased and the consumption of low quality carbohydrates has increased.
In conclusion I can say that Venezuelans in more than 5 years of economic crisis have managed to reinvent themselves to be able to meet at least their food and certainly while some cry others sell tissues to dry the tears and these people earn much more than they did when we had a stable economy, on the other hand I also note that unfortunately not all have managed to generate sufficient income to even eat twice a day.

>Otra cosa es que debo acotar que un gran numero de venezolano no pueden comer el menú que detalle arriba actualmente el consumo de proteína de calidad ha bajado y el consumo carbohidratos de baja calidad ha aumentado.
culminando puedo decir que los venezolanos en mas de 5 años de crisis económica han logrado reinventarse para poder cumplir como mínimo su alimentación y ciertamente mientras unos lloran otros venden pañuelos para secar las lagrimas y estas personas ganan mucho mas de lo que que ganaban cuando teníamos una economía estable, por otra parte también acoto que no todos lastimosamente han logrado generar ingresos suficientes para sin quiero comer dos veces por día.
