# Warning: Not a Moon-boy Reply

Allow me to provide *constructive* criticism, which ultimately might be proved wrong in a few months, but at the very least provides a balancing of perspectives. 

The problem I find is that Steem neither has the size nor the gains to intrigue content producers. The most popular crypto content producers do have a presence here, but it is only for dropping links to their original content from Youtube or some other place. 

Authors would like to be able to post their books here page by page, but revenue-wise, that's a definite no. The 7 day revenue window and the odds of even getting anything in that 7 days is so rough that its really not worth it. 

Publish0x is just as rewarding, sometimes more and it is without all the financial investment from content producers and viewers. Plus, and this is a big plus, its not hierarchical at all. Here, there are big fish and little fish, but on Publish0x and Minds, everyone is on an even social position, which is much more pleasant. 

Logically, if you are a content producer, you would use all of these tools, including Steem. But, Steem was an experiment to see if stake-based content filtering/rewarding would work, and I would argue that we might be seeing that it is not working.

To be fair, Steem provides certain capabilities that Minds and Publish0x do not provide. For example, you can successfully build an organization or business on Steem by utilizing delegation strategies and tokenization strategies with Steem Engine. You really can't do that on Minds or Publish0x.

However, the flexibility of these organizations and businesses have greatly reduced because enough whales and orcas wish to keep curation within the narrow use case of upvoting quality content. So, creative uses of delegations and upvotes are not welcome. I am not simply referring to bidbots here, for example, some of these whales and orcas dislike the SBI project. 

Cool concepts involving SMT/SE tokens that could potentially reward book authors with recurring rewards would likely be stifled by the post-HF21 downvote culture. This means that it will likely become even less likely to motivate book authors to release their works page by page as posts on Steem. And due to new reward thresholds, micro-rewards are less rewarding. 

Just food for thought.

Overall we make less money here but we have good contents to read.

Personally I think the blogging aspect of Steem will be completely eclipsed by other dapps on the blockchain.  We can do pretty much anything here with much more lenient resource caps than other chains.

I had to manually search in the new page for almost a year, i had other ways to find quality authors, so i said maybe now with the hf things have changed. **Turns out not a lot changed in the mindset of many authors.  New page is a fucking chaos**

You're right. When I'm making content I try to hold to the same standard that would be in more competitive space like Youtube. There is seriously like a general step down on quality of Steemit articles/videos compared to other platforms. We need good content on the platform to attract new users as well. Who wants to switch to a social media website with low quality posts?

I stopped reading NEW section, but started reading #NewSteem tag section instead of that! This is better, and hope people might not abuse this section for rewards from certain whales who is actively support this tag! Moreover, created a bot program which can be used to reward this section with manual curation (By comment commands)! Hope to test the bot with flags, to remove spammers from #NewSteem tag as well!

Find a person crying about large stakeholders  9 out of 10 I've looked at are posting pure shit like links or bad english and stolen photos.
