Hello, hello! It seems to me that this is the first time I write in this Community, I came motivated by the proposal of this week that I saw in the participation of @miriannalis and I will also respond to the invitation made by @galenkp regarding this phrase of Plutarch: **“what we achieve internally will change the external reality”**.

I think that for many years we were looking outside or placing on the outside the responsibility for those things or situations that we long to have as happiness, peace, joy ... something like: “if my partner changes I will be happier”, “if the political conflict in my country ends I will have peace”, “if my neighbor was kinder I ...” and so on and so on and so on and so on and so on and so on that we are putting in that “external reality” to which Plutarch refers.

This vision has changed a little, although I believe that a good part of humanity is still asleep in search of those answers in the external, in the other... but I must admit that many of us have realized that the work is with oneself and perhaps the only way to reach another level of development of consciousness and fulfillment. 

In my case, I was tormented by the political situation in my country, by the constant abuses, abuses, and all the horrors that this government has done in the last 20 years; and over time I was filled with rage, despair and even got sick because of all those emotional movements that I was facing because of so much injustice.  When I realized this I said to myself *“I have to change this”*.

I was clear that I could not achieve a change of government, although I have contributed as much as I could to the opposition movements by attending marches, exercising my right to vote, among other actions; but that was not enough to achieve the change I wanted and that definitely robbed me of peace, I lived sick with rage at the news and tormented by everything that was happening. 

I sought refuge in the church, as if I wanted to find there something that would give me back my peace, and I remember that the first day I went, the Father in his sermon mentioned this phrase: “The kingdom of God is within you” and at that moment, I had the insight that I had to change myself internally and my way of relating to this whole situation in order to release the anger, since leaving the country was not an option for me, but neither was living full of anger. 

So I decided to let go of that situation, not that I now like or have respect for the people in the government, but I have let go of the anger and instead I keep nurturing the faith that at any moment it can change, at least I hope to see it before I leave this world. I have put my attention on myself, my reactions, my fears, my anxieties, and that is what I am still working on, it is a process that has taken me a little time, but I see a big difference with respect to how I lived that external reality about 10 years ago.

In closing, I believe that Plutarch's phrase leads us to work on our inner condition, to cultivate our inner realm in order to transform our experiences, since it is the only thing over which we have the power and control to change.
