*If You're Not De-Fi-ing, Are You Even Into Crypto Bro?*
It is very easy for one to feel left out  in the world of crypto, especially in the face of a bull market where a lot of pumps are taking place among different projects, today, this coin/project is doing a 100x roi, tomorrow its another coin doing 200x roi, meanwhile, you're just there with your bag of shitcoin looking lost and questioning your reason for existence. 

The most recent buzz word spearheading this bull market/run being the DeFi is tantamount to the ICO craze of 2017 says most crypto enthusiasts, and "everyone" wants a share of it. However when we look at the repercussion of the 2017 ICO craze, a lot of people got rekt while others made massive gains from their investment's, how then does one, 
- (A)not miss out on DE-FI? 
- (B)not get rekt? 
- (C)Make massive gains?

Entering into De-Fi, what really goes on there? 

In a nutshell, Traditional finance covers every financial activity involving the banks and other financial institutions, it is basically what we're used to, whereas DeFi - Decentralized finance does pretty much the same thing but without involving the Banks and other financial institutions, and all transactions are done on the Blockchain.

Today, nearly $4 billion is locked in the DeFi market as the applications keep increasing by the day and people keep finding reasons to opt out of the Traditional financial market into a more transparent and broker free ecosystem.  It is hard to keep track of all the developments in DeFi at this point, let alone cover all in one post. - (A)not miss out on DE-FI? 

To be candid, there's almost nothing as such as missing out on De-Fi, it's like someone saying they will be missing out on Blockchain, its impossible as long as the Blockchain exists, or can anyone miss out on the internet? except it's voluntary ofcourse. Today a lot of people are FOMO'ing and jumping into the wrong wagon looking for the best potential project to dump their money into in search of maximum returns.

Even the king of Ethereum Vitalik Buterin, left a message on twitter telling people to be wary of shiny De-Fi products unless infact they really understood what was going on. 

How does one, 

- (B)not get rekt? 

The only way one does not get rekt is by investing in legit projects, and most legit projects do not promise or offer 100x returns which are mostly pumps and dumps as we saw on the Yam finance project about a week ago. This does not mean there are not legitimate projects that can offer such returns especially in the face of a bull market/run, but for one to find such, one must be extremely careful and must have done a ton of research to avoid getting rekt. How does one,

- (C)Make massive gains?

By identifying and investing in legit projects. As I said above, there are projects that are new and legit that one could invest in and make massive returns over a long time, as long as the project meets the market demands, has a growing community, is constantly developing and gives people reasons to invest in it beyond monetary gains, such projects are likely to keep growing in value and the early investors are bound to reap off their investments. 

I'm not the one to tell which projects will give massive returns or are legit for a fact, but if you do your research I'm sure such projects exists out there. It is easy to think all of De-fi exists only on Ethereum because it is making all the noise now, but according to Dan Larimer, a renowned blockchain programmer and creator of Bitshares, Steem and EOS, De-Fi has been existing since 2014.

Personally, I've been De-Fi-ing on Steem since December 2017, even without knowing it, and today I can proudly say I've extended that to Hive and so does anyone actively participating on Hive, so before people run around loosing their shit, DE-FI encompasses all financial activities that involves trading, sending, receiving, staking, borrowing, lending of money in a decentralized way on a public blockchain. If Hive doesn't De-Fi? Then maybe I don't know what really does.
