Gold Market Performance

Despite this daily decline, gold’s longer-term momentum remains positive. Silver’s Performance 

In contrast to gold, silver prices maintained their upward movement. The metal traded near $38.15 per ounce by the close of business, seeing at least a half-percent daily gain and holding close to multi-year highs reached earlier in July. Silver’s continued strength is being fueled by both investment flows and industrial purchases, as manufacturers in technology and green energy sectors remain active buyers against a backdrop of sustained supply tightness.

On a year-over-year basis, silver stands out with a gain approaching 30%.
