>

Hello dear friends who support the beautiful Motherhood community, I greet you as always with great affection, wishing you a beautiful day. For today I didn't have a concrete theme to share, so I want to attribute this idea to # MomLife January 2022 Part II, since I found some topics I could write about in this publication; I chose No. 17: Bonding Ideas for Siblings.

>

And this topic of sibling bonding has ample space for conversation. And speaking of bonding, we could refer to that process of adaptation due to the arrival of a new member to the family, to the coexistence, the sharing and the process of forming a permanent bond of brotherhood, that is to say, accepting each other as brothers and sisters and members of a family circle.

>

It could be said that for only children, life is easier, however, companionship is often necessary. When a sibling is born, the initial reaction may be excitement, but as the days go by, there are a series of changes in the routine of the child who was used to being alone. He may have to share his room, toys and other things. His personal space is now altered by the presence of his sibling. What will parents do in this situation?

>

Giving concrete advice would be impractical, as circumstances in every home may change, and children's personalities may differ. However, I will share my personal experience as a daughter, and the methods my parents used to facilitate sister bonding.

>

I am the youngest daughter of three sisters, so I got the easy part, so to speak. But seeing the example of my sisters helps me to share the experience. The three of us as children shared the same room, so the issue of order became a constant struggle, each one had her own space for her personal things, but there was always one of us who took the other's things without permission and did not put them back in their place.

>

The issue of shoes and clothes was another reason to fight, actually we had no problems with wearing the same clothes, the three of us had similar builds and the same shoe size allowed us to share, but the real problem appeared when we wanted to wear the same clothes or the same shoes for an occasion, at that time we appreciated owners everywhere, we all had reasons, not to say excuses, why a certain garment belonged to us; I confess that once I was left without shoes to go to school because one of my sisters took them before, finally I had to wear some that I didn't like at all.

>

In short, living together was not easy, this kind of things made the atmosphere an endless number of fights. What did my mother do? The best thing to do was to establish rules for living together:

>

1) "None of them has a crown". With this she wanted to tell us that she had no preference for any of us and that the three of us had to treat each other with the same respect.

>

2) We buy each one's clothes, shoes and other things separately.

>

3) If someone wants to use the other girls' things, they must ask permission from the owner and return what they borrowed in the same condition and in the same place.

>

4) Everyone keeps their own space clean and tidy, so that nothing will be lost.

>

5) In case of events (congresses, parties, weddings and others), a program will be drawn up where they agree on the dress and footwear to be used by each person, corresponding to the days of the activity.

>

These were some of the rules, and although they may seem a bit exaggerated, applying them accurately worked out very well for us, fights and disagreements decreased a lot and coexistence was smoother. This in our case.

>

And although, as I mentioned, the circumstances in each home may be different, parents setting rules of coexistence according to their needs can greatly help the relationship between siblings; meaning that much of the responsibility, if not all, involved in sibling bonding falls on the parents.

>

With this I mention that, fostering coexistence among siblings is indispensable for family harmony, those bonds of brotherhood if firmly established, become lasting relationships that are not easily broken over the years and are beneficial in adulthood, especially in making important decisions.
