El personaje de Pennywise fué creado por el escritor Stephen King en 1986 para su novela de terror llamada "IT" (Eso). Pennywise es un ente maligno, vive en las alcantarillas de una ciudad llamada Derry y sale a comer cada 27 años, durante 2 años. Él es capaz de cambiar su forma y tomar la forma de la cosa que más teme su victima. Se alimenta del miedo y de la carne de los niños, por lo que suele aparecer como un payaso. Se han hecho varias adaptaciones de la novela de Stephen King que han sido llevadas tanto al cine como a la tv, asi que este fanart de Pennywise está basado en la version de la pelicula del 2017 y 2019, en donde Bill Skarsgård le da vida al payaso.
