Neighbors and their eagerness to interfere into the affairs of other people's children,lol. 
I wonder how it must have been like for you, not being able to socialize freely for the fear you're doing something wrong. That must have affected you growing up.

Exactly how it should be, most times people expect to meet us where they left us but get shocked when we've grown taller than they ever expected.

Parents tend to restrict their children from socializing, from relating with other children of their age grade out of ignorance. They forget that child hood is one of the moments of our lives that once that we are free spirited, no time to think about the worries of this world, and they're there because we can never relive those moments after its gone.

Children should be allowed to play when they need to and work when they're supposed to, they should be a balance because children who don't get the opportunity to do this become scarred one way or the other

I am cheering that kid for not paying attention to that woman 

I have kids around here too, they are carefree when mum is around, once, dad, returns, they go back to behaving well 

Their mum allows them the freedom to play, not, their dad. 

Most times, I wonder if he had a childhood or not, because those kids barely even have friends

Not, barely, they have no friends. 

Except, of course, when they get to school, where dad isn't around 

Children should be allowed to play to their heart contents, they have lots of energy, so that, they don't grow up with an isolated demeanor

Anyone can play at any age. It should not give room for gossip or disapproval.
