Saludos amigos de Hive Motors, continuo combinado mi tiempo de ocio producto a la pandemia, la herramienta más poderosa para el aprendizaje la internet y mi afición por la mecánica. Hace algunos días el carro comenzó a presentar un sonido extraño, lo primero que pensé fue en un rodamiento, pero con el uso de un trozo de manguera que use como hacen los médicos con el estetoscopio determine que no era un rodamiento, pero al revisar la correa determine que estaba a punto de dañarse. Éste es un componente que si no revisamos periódicamente nos puedo ocasionar problemas.

Procedí a investigar por internet la manera de desmontarla y montarla, realmente es sumamente sencillo, sin embargo si esta correa se daña nos quedaremos accidentados porque mueve el alternador que produce la corriente que mantiene la batería, el compresor del aire acondicionado y la bomba hidráulica de la dirección. En internet hay mucha información y videos sobre como cambiarla, la única herramienta que se requiere es una llave 5/8 para accionar el tensor de la correa. En mi caso lo único que me presento cierta dificultad fue el recorrido de la correa pero no es algo muy complejo y en el empaque viene el diagrama de como funciona.

Al desmontar la correa aproveche para revisar los rodamientos y uno que había oído con cierto ruido aproveche para hacerle mantenimiento, limpiarlo y engrasarlo. Montada la correa encendí el vehículo y problema resuelto.

Reflexión

Más allá del ahorro que significa hacer estas reparaciones y mantenimientos poco complejos a nuestros vehículos, tener conocimientos de mecánica básica y algunas herramientas pueden evitar quedarnos varados en la vía durante un viaje o en un lugar peligroso, son muchas las historias en nuestro país de personas que han sido víctimas del hampa por haberse accidentado. Por supuesto que lo ideal es el mantenimiento preventivo, pero no está mal tener algunos conocimientos de mecánica nunca sabemos cuando nos pueden ser útiles.
